Shocked I see the problem...... your bonnet is FAR too clean, are you related to Zagato? lol. TBH, if that is all there is there isn't much need for concern- just keep an eye on it every now and then and wait to see if it gets worse Smile. Or were these pictures after a clean?

No relation to him IIRC.

Cleaned it once before but it did not look much worse then.

Thumbs Up Will just eye it for a while before I take my torch and pitch fork to the dealer....

and half hour later fitted:-

Only obvious difference to me is that the one I took off is made in England the new one is made in France.

Lets hope that cures it... Cheers,

Just a quick update to say that after a 250miles tri, no further oil leaks under the bonnet - Looks like the brake servo unit was the issue Thumbs Up Cheers,

Censored . I was wondering where that light spray of oil on the bonnet was coming from and now I know...

Is it difficult to replace the pump yourself if you're not a qualified mechanic?

Looks like I'll have a whole new Defender at this rate, part by part.

Dead easy.

Have a read here http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic16139.html and there's a link to a LR document on how to do it. Took me an hour all in to do it. Cheers,
