Usually just diesel with a few litres of petrol in it to stop it waxing over. All UK refineries put some additives in to stop this happening anyway I believe. |

Not petrol anymore. That worked with old diesels of 20 years and more ago, when you could add a few liters of petrol to a tank of diesel to avoid the parafine to solidify. Modern common rail diesels would not react very well to that practice anymore. You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation. http://youtu.be/yVRlSsJwD0o https://youtu.be/vmPr3oTHndg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_GtzTT9Pdl0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABqKPz28e6A https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rLZ49Jce_n0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XvAsz_ilQYU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K8tMHiX9lSw https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=dxwjPuHIV7I https://vimeo.com/201482507 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSixqL0iyHw |

My main preparation this year is to learn to shout 'START YOU BARSTERD' (phonetic to stop the censor) in as many different languages as I can.
Guess we can expect the 'What are you buying your Defender for Christmas' thread next week then ? Jon - 110 td5 [sold]. Currently Defenderless. |

Quick engine oil change (in October), finish insulating the seat box,fit mi "new" steering guard (bar),new NAS rear lights,Dinatrol the freshly painted chassis, thats mi list of the first 5 things to do.
Still got the excellent Michelin XPC so am good fer tyres. May insulate the exterior of the heater matrix box see if it makes a difference, got plenty of insulating foil bubble wrap left over. Wonder if I should buy a radiator cover and snow cowl for heater intake??? |

Steve. Owned numerous Land Rover vehicles of all shapes and sizes over the decades. Current Defender: A non tarts hand-bagged Puma 110 XS USW. [Insert something impressive here such as extensive list of previous Land Rovers or examples of your prestigeous and expensive items, trinkets, houses, bikes, vehicles etc] http://forums.lr4x4.com I used to be Miserable ...but now I'm ecstatic. |
