Sorry to sound naďve but what exactly is the problem you guys are trying to solve with the fuel filler caps? Cheers, David

When on the plains or on a green lane, the caps can get a fair bit of muck around them, a defendoor just keeps the cr@p out of the lock. In arctic conditions, keeping an oily rag over the top of the filler cap, keeps the lock working, and you have a rag to wipe your hands with

Only recurrent problems I have in cold weather are the door locks freezing (I have to go through the safari door & squirm onto the front seat) & the handbrake taking time to unfreeze once I get the engine running. With the latter problem, would an X-Engineering handbrake disc be less likely to freeze-seize, or more? Land Rover Defenders. 67 years heritage, minimal appearance changes, still going strong all over the world. Not a fashion vehicle, but fashionable to own. Made for the needy, not the greedy. Door locks........spray them with a silicon lubricant or such other
Handbrake...........leave it off but in a low gear. |
