Today, with the help of my Uncle we replaced the rear brake pipes across the rear axle, the flexi, the long pipe down the chassis and the front drivers side brake master to flexi with new copper ones.
The flexi is a braided one. The front braided ones look they are the wrong ends ![]() Discovered that I could not remove the locking wheel nuts as the locking nut tool has split and the locking nuts are really on tight! So looks like new locking wheel nuts needed ![]() Regards John M0VAZ Econet Station 48 no clock |

Quick tip run, using the roof-rack to it's full potential. Presume Lara does the same in her TR on a day off?

Fed up with having to thread the webbibg through the buckle each time I rolled the rear window up so got some spare webbing and a couple of molle side catch buckles to make it much easier:

Took a bit of a wrong turning somewhere, and ended up having to drive through a whole load of mud...

I spent the morning removing various bits that are bolted to the chassis - side steps, mud flaps, front bumper and those awkward brackets for the rear seat belts that are bolted to the inside of the rear cross member. Had to resort to the angle grinder for one of those
![]() ![]() It looks a bit naked for the time being, though: ![]() Click image to enlarge I've also found a powder coating company not too far from me so I'm hoping to take all of the bits I've removed and get them coated before re-fitting. Got a new radio fitted. Pioneer deh-x8500dab from Halfords.
Had the Bluetooth streaming from iPhone and Dab I wanted but also came with 2usb, hands free phone calls and a CD player as a bonus. Sounds superb and really much improved from the standard kenwood mini-disc unit from 12yrs. Half price at 169 so not too bad on the wallet either ![]() Click image to enlarge Defender 90 - Tomb Raider LE Discovery 5 HSE - yes, even despite the ugly backend. changed oil and filter - 6 months since dealer service, so I assume they greased the props but decided to grease them as well........but
managed to grease one but could not get the others to latch on to the nozzle. looks like I will have to drop the props. question - neither of my props have nipples on the slider section of the prop! is this normal for Puma's? BM52 |

some have nipples, some don't - ones that don't are "greased for life" apparently |
