I never had a problem with the Postie until 18 months ago when he got moved. Now the system has changed they draw lots to see who gets what round so we never get the same one twice in a week. Our front gardens are open plan ie no fence between houses and the posti's just walk over the grass and flower beds after several stern words one day to one of them I got a visit from the sorting office supervisor who was intent on making it out to be my fault for having grass and flower in my garden, the postie could walk were he liked and warning me that he would report me to the Police if I tried again to stop the postie walking on my garden (not a Police matter).

I made an excuse and quickly typed out a letter stating that I would ban every Postie from the depot setting foot on my property if the practice did not stop and that I would be sending them the bill for turf and damaged flowers and would follow it up every time they walked on my garden.

Its never happened again and I got a cheque as a goodwill gesture. Don't make old people mad.
We don't like being old in the first place,
so it doesn't take much to Censored us off.

Really peed off with DVLA's "Let's make it easy for you to tax your motor(at exhorbitant rates) from the comfort of your armchair" This time I've left it to the last minute, other years I've tried up to a fortnight before and it will never let me tax the thing online, why? Because my insurance runs from midnight July 1st to close of day on the 30th June and it will not register. I'm having to go for 6mths this time as pennies can't quite stretch to the £280 in one go this time and I hear you all say "Well there you go you'll be able to do it after Christmas!" No, because my MoT is renewed then and even if I get my MoT done well beforehand the bloody DVLA computer doesn't register that there is a new MoT certificate in place for when that one runs out! So no matter when I time my tax renewal I have to use the Post Office Rolling Eyes

with some insurance companies you can insure for either 11 or 13 months if you ask for a special term. that would help with dates or next time if the price is right check out Elephant who do 10 month deals. BM52

Now there's a thought, I might pop into my local NFU office one of the days and have a chat with them, they've had quite a few years of my custom and they're pretty amenable to all the alterations I've done over the years. One of those avenues you keep meaning to explore but never get round to it Whistle

Bloody truck in front of me decided to run its tyre off a rim on the highway at 1 am. Ran over it with the Defender when I tried to avoid the truck. Had to bend the bracket of the rear mudflap back in place. I'll have a look underneath the car tomorrow morning. Anyways, maybe I shouldn't be grumpy at all.
Things could have been worse. Especially if I'd hit the truck... Confused

Motorway, very very heavy rain and the rear wipe stops. I swore and cursed a few times I'm afraid to admit Twisted Evil

All the way home I was thinking I might need a new switch, relay, motor, has a cable rubbed through. Every possible combination of woe went through my mind.....

Got home, walked round the back of the 90 " oh b@ll@cks..." Embarassed

Ahem; I had pushed the rear wheel cover over too much and it had trapped the wiper arm. Phew, do I need to apologise to my 90 Question BM52

Why is that some bod who never drives a Land Rover never mind having to check fluid levels gets to put things were he thinks they should go. Banging Head
Has he tried to get the cap off to check the cluth fluid level?
No, if he had he would know that you cannot get your hand in to undo the top because of all the c..p he has put on top. Banging Head
Has he had to check the water level?
No, you cannot get your head over the top to look inside and he had it made out C..p coloured plastic that you cannot see through. Banging Head

I'm having a bad day and the two fluid checks have made me feel worse. Don't make old people mad.

Has WD40 always been highly flammable? Shocked Shocked Shocked

Doing some shredding this morning and the shredder started to become very dry and slow. Ah, a squirt of WD always fixes that (as it has done previously!). Off I go to get a can out of the workshop, come back and then squirt it in.
I nearly lost my eyebrows, as the WD40 combusted instantaneously, presumably from the heat of the shredder! Shocked Of course, all the dry paper inside was perfect conditions for a fire Big Cry
One fire extinguisher later and all is well, now I have the job of cleaning the fire extinguisher remnants from the office Big Cry Big Cry

So a warning, don't play with WD40, it's flammable! Embarassed Big Cry Banging Head Banging Head An engine to TDi for!
