Let the bloody doorhandle slip out of my hand during stormy weather. As it opened far over 90 degrees you can guess what happened to the bodywork.

Samsung TV Customer Service is Not What I Call Service
I bought a 19" TV for the kitchen, used it for 2 weeks and then went on hols for 2 weeks. When I came back the sound was faulty, it kept stopping. Samsung, I para phrase, say tough cannot replace as over 28 days old. As it is less than 32" [take day off work] and drive [about] 30 miles to a service centre, no post, no collection, no deliveries. And then I assume take another day off work to collect assuming they fix it. I have complained, first time they ignored and 2nd time I got a repeat of the above and I para phrase again because I have taken their response to mean tough, we don't care, it is only a small TV and you as a customer are less than important and we really don't care if we have your custom. Does Samsung honestly think I will ever buy anything with their label on it again........oh the Customer Service link on their email does not work or the Survey. "..... you will have to carry-in your TV to the service centre to have it repaired. If you bring your proof of purchase the TV will be repaired free of charge. I am sorry I couldn’t be of more help. If there is anything else we can help with, please let us know. Our Customer Support Team love feedback! Share your thoughts on this response by completing the survey at the bottom of this page". LOL, I stopped buying Samsung stuff after my computer lcd was faulty. Mailed them, they picked it up and dropped me a new one. I had to sign there was not a single scratch on my lcd screen. What did they think I'd do with a bloody screen?
Unpacked the new one, which had a couple of scratches and above all, the colours were incorrect. After that, not a single reaction, no matter how I tried to contact them. Bought a Dell to replace it with and just forgot about Samsung. Never will I buy another thing from them. Bm52, good luck with your TV. ![]() |

After reading above Kwik Fit have been had for that in the past IIRC.
ON a different note, I really don't like van drivers putting up two fingers to me this evening because I flash him for dangerously overtaking just after a bend into my lane (on coming) without having any proper view at all. Idiot. ![]() ⛽ï¸ðŸ›¢ï¸âš™ï¸ðŸ§°ðŸ’ª |

Courier companies
![]() A fellow forum member sold me a wheel cover and kindly agreed to courier it to me via Parcel2Go/Yodel. It never arrived and after numerous online "chats" and acknowledging reference numbers/pick up/messages claiming it was in dispatch, etc. etc. the couriers eventually claimed that it had never been picked up after passing the buck between P2G and Yodel and instigating their own "investigations". Big mistake! The forum member happens to have kept every receipt and showed them proof they had collected it. Story changed again until they eventually just said that it was lost and they couldn't care less (not in those exact words) and paid £28 "compensation". On a positive note, top marks to the forum member (Zahy) who could not have been more patient (with me) and in sending ££ back to me at the end. ![]() |

Virgin Media
![]() I detest junk mail, I am registered with the MPS, yet I get regular unsolicted junk mail from Virgin Media. It used to come addressed to me personally (though I had never given them my details, of course). In an attempt to stop the flow, I rang them to ask:- 1) Why, as members of the DMA do they send uncolicited junk mail to persons registered with the MPS against the recipients wishes, in breach of the DMA's Code of Conduct ("we're allowed to, Sir!" - "No you're not!" - "Yes, we are!" - "Why" - "We just are!") 2) Please to stop sending me junk mail ("Certainly Sir") Great, victory I thought. ![]() ![]() Cue another phone call to ask:- 1) Why, as members of the DMA do they send uncolicited junk mail to addresses registered with the MPS against the occupants wishes, in breach of the DMA's Code of Conduct ("we're allowed to, Sir!" - "No you're not!" - "Yes, we are!" - "Why" - "We just are!") 2) Please stop ("We can't, the system won't allow it. We can take your name off the list, but we can't take your address off the list!" - "Don't be ridiculous, you can, the system can, and the DMA Code of Conduct Requires it!" - "No it doesn't" - "Put me through to your supervisor please" - "Goodbye" phone down). Has anyone here managed successfully to get this hateful company to stop sending unsolicited rubbish? If so, please tell me how you managed it! If Virgin Media is the last company left on earth it still won't get business from me. As an aside, has anyone managed to stop Lidl from delivering unwanted flyers once a week? |

Probably a stupid question but can you contact the DMA? Surely they must have some "teeth"... Tell someone you love them today because life is short.
But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing... |

Years ago junk mail in my household was allmost welcomed but as time went by the leaflets started to be printed on shiney paper which was not as desirable. The reason for being happy with the junk mail? I had solid fuel Rayburns and it saved having to buy a newspaper every day to start them and the open fire in the front room

Since posting my rant above I have been googling the subject, with interesting and depressing results.
If junk mail has a name and address on it, it is "addressed" and the MPS and DMA code of conduct require that the sender desists if asked to do so, or if the named person has registered with the MPS. It is also possible to send a formal "data protection notice", which is a legally binding demand made with reference to Article 11 of the Data Protection Act 1998, to the sender which should achieve the same result. So it can be stopped. If however the junk mail is addressed to "The Occupier" at a specific address the, believe it or not, it is technically "unaddressed" (counter-intuitive, eh?) and you cannot stop it. It is not covered by the MPS, nor the DMA code of conduct, and it is well known that Virgin Media in particular (as well as some other firms) cynically exploit this loophole to bombard you with junk. Searching online for this subject reveals literally thousands of very hacked off people who have found this out. It is described on one anti-junk advice website as a cynical, cheap, and legal way to 'carpet bomb' an area with junk. The subject of Virgin Media doing this was covered in a Watchdog episode apparently, which came to the same conclusion, ie it can't be stopped. It also revealed that more than half the items delivered by the Royal Mail now are junk mail of this variety! What really hacks me off is the mantra that Virgin spout that "we can't stop unaddressed mail". Of course they can if they want, they send it - it doesn't come from anywhere else - so they can stop it! What they mean is that they have no intention of stopping it because they know that you can't do anything about it! Blast, my blood pressure is up again. Time for a lie down. |

If you reject post addressed to 'The Occupant' you won't get your vote registering forms.

Many years ago I finally stopped the deluge of Readers Digest junk by writing 'deceased' on one and posting it back
