hi,
just read this post today if I am not wrong, 9.72 l/100 km is 31 mpg this is the mean value for my defender 2012 with the 2.2 engine I have always be interested with this kind of sport but I see that I have a lot to learn when I read your performance ! and I have to say that I am driving slowly at a speed approx. between 90km/h and 95 km/h on highway what should be 56 to 59 mph I have also to ad that I try also to not let the engine turn to slowly, thinking it is not good for the engine I try 2000t/min generally in 6 and try to not go under 1500t/min even if land Rover say that the engine could run between 1200 and 2000 t/min I will read with interest the next message Philippe current : defender 110 sw 2.2 puma 2012 and 230.000km today and again my Range Rover VM2.5 engine from 1992 and 528.000km today. I regularly get 9 - 9.5 l/100km unless I drive like a looney. I admit I'm not towing anything or driving fast but it does mean the 110 is a viable everyday "car" Tell someone you love them today because life is short.
But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing... |

spotted a couple of reciepts in the car from over a period of time earlier so I thought I'd post the results here before things improve further (hopefully) now the car is all sorted.....
70.8 ltrs - 490 miles 71.05 ltrs - 430 miles 70.45 ltrs - 523 miles 67.8 ltrs - 438 miles 69.36 ltrs - 565 miles 70.7 ltrs - 464 miles and I thought a standard 110 2.4 only had a 65 ltr tank ??? the big question is.....do I hold the title for most miles out of a standard tank ? (I think I might hold the title for the most moans ) |

if it is 80 ltr then that would explain alot but I thought it was spec'd as 65ltr with the 90 being even smaller....55 ltrs ?

just had a look on the lr website....
60 and 75 ltrs. ....so I've thought I was virtually empty but probably had a further 3 or 4 ltrs left.....hmmm should be able to get about 585 out of a tank in that case |

Hi,
70.8 ltrs - 490 miles should be 31.4mpg 71.05 ltrs - 430 miles should be 27.4mpg 70.45 ltrs - 523 miles should be 33.6mpg 67.8 ltrs - 438 miles should be 29.4mpg 69.36 ltrs - 565 miles shoud be 37.2mpg 70.7 ltrs - 464 miles should be 29.7mpg interesting, the mean value should be 31.4mpg what is better than what I do ! your record is 37.2mpg, I suppose the def was on a trailer ! about, max miles per tank, it depends also about if you are or not afraid to go without any diesel in your tank what seems to be a problem with our new engines ... congratulations Philippe current : defender 110 sw 2.2 puma 2012 and 230.000km today and again my Range Rover VM2.5 engine from 1992 and 528.000km today. you have disappointed me.....I thought my mean value was 33mpg. (I was lazy and used only the last 2 values to work out 33mpg).
car is now working well and I'm looking forward to improvements and then modifications to hopefully gain furher improvements. |

noting you do hight mileage gave me an idea !
comparing 27mpg to 33 mpg over 200,000 miles shows a differency of almost £10k in fuel costs thats half a new defender !! (front or back ) |

Wish that were true - over 200k miles you'll spend it all on servicing costs... unless you don't drive it, in which case you won't save the money anyway Do I sound bitter and twisted? Defender was serviced last week (700 Euros) and just got the bill for the Audi service/repairs this week (1400 Euros) But fair do's - well done with the consumption (fuel, not tuberculosis) Tell someone you love them today because life is short. 1400 on the Audi
I'm working on the basis more and more of the jobs on the def I'll be doing, that combined with depreciationi and tax benefits the 110 should prove cheap to run even if the economy aint great (compared to a euro tub). |
