Euuuuhhh, maybe ask Land Rover Customer Service,...... when they are back from "Out of Office" eventually You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation. http://youtu.be/yVRlSsJwD0o https://youtu.be/vmPr3oTHndg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_GtzTT9Pdl0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABqKPz28e6A https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rLZ49Jce_n0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XvAsz_ilQYU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K8tMHiX9lSw https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=dxwjPuHIV7I https://vimeo.com/201482507 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSixqL0iyHw |

Hi smurph, great post. Ive also had my 2.2 for a similar period and agree with most of your observations. I can also confirm no leak but as yet cannot comment on the air con. Still awaiting for that special summers day where i need to press the button.

Have seen a number of comments through the forums on the ECU and what is perceived as weird throttle manipulation. My take on it is that this is just anti-pollution measures. Not any half clever attempt at rev matching or bugs in the ECU. My understanding is that some emission control requirements insist that the throttle on pretty much any vehicle must be stopped from making a mad dash to fully closed at any point in the vehicle's operation. This is why when you hit the clutch and take your foot off the throttle (for up or down shifts or any other reason) the revs hang high and wash off slowly. ...it's there somewhere... Tell someone you love them today because life is short. But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing... |
