Slide out tray for the waffle boards? Drop them in the tray and slide it back in, only the tray to clean.

Hi,

I'm planning on building a set of rear drawers for my Def90 and am struggling to find a supply of long (approx 1 metre) drawer slides at a decent price.

Any suggestions for suppliers, or alternative installation ideas welcome.

Cheers

Simon

Personally, I think 7 drawers would be to much ... I think two layers would do, bottom drawer for the waffle boards, and since they are not used that much I would make them as friction drawers, half way slide out would do for that purpose, easy to take waffle boards out then. Second drawer you could stack euroboxes for storage.
Much more simple and woud save some £££ Cheers, Vincent

B&Q is the place to go. I got decent long heavy duty runners from there that took the weight of my heavy drawer and all the kit in it. It was a full 90 load bed deep and pulled out far enough for me to reach into the back. Have a look here.

Instead of waffle boards, consider bush ranger track mats?

I just read that drawer slides can effectively have their opening length doubled by removing the rear end stops. This allows them to travel as far backwards as forwards.

Anyone tried this..?

Cheers

I have 4 euroboxes on the drawer. The eurobox is 40 x 30 x 20 cm (length x width x height).
I left some space underneath the drawer for storage of a little foldable table or the like.

The drawer full extends to more than its own length, so its easy to take things out the rear boxes.

Drawer is approx 80 cm, the 3-way slider is only 60 cm, but is extendable to more than its own length.
Fully extended the slider is 143 cm.
