Scheel-Mann is a brand of the company Greiner, who manufacture high end seating furniture medical seats, wheelchairs. The Seats have always been an alternative to the standard LR seats, especially before LR brought the SVX seats manufactured at Recaro. I have the Scheelmanns in leather with electric heating for two and a half years now, very very pleased with them. You don't need longer seat rails to sit comfortable, because the needed console provides you already with longer rails. http://www.greiner-gmbh.de/ They do have a special range of seats for the Defender, from basic with cloth, to leather, heated pneumatic massage and so on. Just take the following link to have a look http://www.greiner-gmbh.de/fileadmin/CONTE...ion_DE.pdf ooooh, sorry, for our english speaking friends!!!!:::: http://www.greiner-gmbh.de/fileadmin/CONTE...ion_EN.pdf ..and in case they can't help with the 7-seat-solution, someone here in the forum found another very good solution: . Hello Familymad, the 7 seat solution was a thought at the beginning because of my family size, but I finally went with the 5 seat as, even 7 seats is not enough for my family - we need a Viano for transporting everyone As I typically bike to work, the Defender is not rational, but a pure childish action all the way down to the number of seats, and at least now when I go hunting, my guns will be safe The safe is actually very useful and will be used for more than just hunting equipment. |

Thank you Megatoad - I wonder if the roof rack would be EU compliant if I use it as a people carrier 9 seats, that is a dream defender |

If you bought an old Series 11/111 109 then they were 12 seaters, but judging by my old one I think your children would take you to the Hague for violation of human rights due to how uncomfortable they were The 9 seaters have four inward facing seats at the rear, but these are now banned in the EU for carrying people due to the innefective nature of lapstraps when the passenger is travelling sideways. That is why the last row of seats in the 110's and 90's had to become forward facing with headrests and 3 point seatbelts. He who dies with the most toys wins Defender 90 & 110, S1 80", Disco 1, S111 88 LRSOC & CVLRC |

Thank you Kraut, nice seats - because I have the safe, I was thinking of something that resembled the seats out of Discovery 1. The Greiner link is fantastic and my seats are exaclty the ones in the link, heated, full black leather with green stitching. You have been very helpful. do you know if any seat covers are made for these seats:?: Today with some advice from Ericvv, I decided on the Nakatanenga spare wheel carrier. Slowly but surely, my truck is becoming road worthy :) Admin note: this post has had its images recovered from a money grabbing photo hosting site and reinstated |

Very welcome Kitoper!
Haven't heard of any seat covers, maybe you should call them at Greiner |

What I see in Kraut's picture probably would not be considered as real additional seats but just some padding, and might keep your vehicle fully road legal and in line with your Swiss 5 seater registration and comply with your insurance. At the same time some hunters could easily use this as temporary seating off the beaten tracks... Looks a nice alternative to think about  Admin note: this post has had its images recovered from a money grabbing photo hosting site and reinstated You never actually own a Defender. No, it's not mine. After hanging around here in this forum for a while you will be able to promptly recognize that it's a 90 on the picture!
Maybe you should go to an upholsterer, cholse a leather matching your seats and get a unique pair including the small leather backrests made for you |

After seeing all you helpful posts, I looked at your galleries last night and saw that a 90 was not in your stable I have sent an email to Greiner to find out if they have any seat covers and will keep you posted. As it was difficult to find, I put the link to the Nakatanenga spare wheel carrier here: http://nakatanenga-tours.de/shop/article_R...RRHNAHI%26 |

After a few days without my Defender I am happy to have her back. While she was away she received a Dinitrol Treatment and I have posted some pictures in my gallery https://www.defender2.net/gallery/index.php?cat=14071.
The treatment was done by Leu Carrosserie & Spitzwerk AG in Biel-Benken, Switzerland http://www.leu-ag.ch/ . Living in Switzerland you tend to expect quality, but I must say that my expectations were surpassed. The attention to detail and the cleanliness of the truck when picking it up was beyond anything I thought I would receive. I was given a complete tour of what was done, (every rivet, crook, cranny, chassis and joint was done). I was given a 6 year guarantee requiring 2 checkups within the 6 years and I was given instructions as to what to do over the next few days as I drive the vehicle and the dinitrol continues to dry. I was accompanied by Eric to take my truck in for the treatment, in fact Eric graciously accepted to drive me back from the garage after dropping it off- (that is Defender Comoraderie). I will post a few pictures of our drive up to the garage as Defender driving in Switzerland on the pristine roads and mountainous scenery is worth sharing. If you are a Defender owner in Switzerland, neighboring France or Germany, I can only say that the Garage Leu, who was recommended by the Dinitrol importer in Switzerland is the place to go. A few pics, more in my gallery. Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge |

Hello Arran, they speak German primarily, French is spoken too and a little English. They can do on all Landys although the guarantee does not have the same applicability as on the new ones. If you have it done on an old one, they recommend bringing it in the spring. They will desalt it, clean it and then treat it. Michel is the person who helped me and gave me all the necessary advice there. The car was then treated by Guillaume. The price is very reasonable too. |

Beautiful Defender...really classy..
For the jump seats in the back, in the spirit of the ones posted by Kraut, try to contact these guys in Geneva- they work very well, know what they are doing, albeit a bit pricey: http://www.luxhous.com/ If it's not too much to ask, how much was the dinitrolling in Biel? PM ok as well, if you prefer.. I have a 20 year old Puch GD I would like to have sorted out.. Cheers, e. LC HZJ76 2014 |
