Made sure that I can fit it in the garage. Only bought the car this week, and should have thought about that earlier. At least i can work in the dry already noticed that the PAS box is leaking.
Where can I source a new one? Hopefully going to have a go replacing it myself- all part of the Fun... Click image to enlarge |

Try Adwest in Reading, they make them in the first place. Had some bad experiences win Genuine Parts boxes. Not a difficult job to change. |

Steering boxes IMHO are a pain to try and fix a leak and I hear some recon kits, or seals can be more touble than they are worth. My 300 had a leak and I bought a re-con Adwest box from Adwest. Worked a treat. Before you think about fixing any seals I would take advice from someone who can advise whether a new seal is an option. If I recall the recon box was about £220ish. BM52 |

Washed it after it came back from the garage. Last week I had a full service done, and after 3 days I heard strange noises under the bonnet*
Waterpump was dying, luckily I heard it in time, thursday off for a short holiday in the Peak District! * If your young, you are afraid of strange noises under your bed. If your older, you're afraid of strange noises under the bonnet... I think I will be replacing the full unit if its only £200 odd quid. It's all down to whether I want to pay someone to do it or have a go and learn myself. Need to find a good garage I can trust in Perthshire to tell me what has and has not been done to the car already as this is the first Defender I have owned. previous land rover was a Disco 3 which I could just get the computer to fix for me |

After last nights joy of having the LEDs lighting up my way (couldn't see main beam at all), I wanted the depth that the spots gave me........... so the roo-bar went back on today.
Last night:
Tonight: Click image to enlarge Photo was in the same place at the same angle ....... Surprisingly no-one forgets to switch to dip beam now Clear vision of about 300-400m with a further 200m of lighter things in view. *EDIT* Also saw a BRAND NEW, pre-registered FFRR in white- BEAUTIFUL..... shame it already had scuffs on the front corner * Glyn :sheep: Admin note: this post has had its images recovered from a money grabbing photo hosting site and reinstated |
