First time off road for the auto today on a green lane. It did it with ease, I had to use low ratio when it was manual for some parts, completely forgot to engage low today it was that good, TC come on a few times but nothing dramatic BM52

Took a pretty young lady out to the dales for a bit of exploring
Was going great until her mum called and said her grandmother had died On the upside, the defender is definitely an asset Geoff 2007 Defender 90 Click image to enlarge |

How are you getting on with that damage to your 90? Or is it repaired now? KEEP CALM AND Drill ON 🇬🇧🏴🏴🏴🇮🇪🇺🇸⛽️🛢️⚙️🧰💪 |

Still damaged unfortunately. I've been short of cash and time lately. Will probably get it done in May.
I also still owe Chris for my clutch lock! Geoff 2007 Defender 90 Click image to enlarge |

Converted the high level brake light to flash ten times before coming on hard. If stuck in traffic it works like usual. Makes me feel a bit more secure. Don't know if it's legal, so I put in a by-pass switch for the MOT.

Not legal under UK law. (Exception - if it happens to be type approved under European law then it cannot be ruled illegal in the UK (which is why it is now common to see cars with the daft and pointless feature that turns the foglights on at low speed on corners. This is illegal under UK law, except that the law that renders it illegal is itself illegal under EU law. Make sense of that if you can!). I do not think that a flashing high-level brakelight is legal in Europe though.) |

Just changed the front brake pads, took up a bit of wheel bearing play, greased the propshafts and checked engine fluid levels. Damn, the engine oil was high, drained off just over a litre! I just so hope that I had overfilled it at the last service(pouring out of a 5gal drum is not that scientific, I should know better, instead of measuring it in in jugs) and not the injector seals leaking. They were done about 30k miles ago. I've left the overfill in a clear plastic bottle, would the diesel, if there is some in there, float to the surface? In the meantime I'm going to be paranoid about the dipstick

Finally got around to wiring up my LED light bar......... . Got the missus to turn it on when it got dark, and all I could think was "By the beard of Zeus that is bright!!". Just need to get the roo-bars back on and then will have the perfect light set-up (for me anyway).
