Tracked down another annoying vibration always around 2000rpm:
Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Exhaust manifold stud touching the exhaust/turbo cover support bar - must have moved it last time I fixed the turbo  Admin note: this post has had its images recovered from a money grabbing photo hosting site and reinstated Tell someone you love them today because life is short. But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing... |

Drove my 90 to the Land Rover Exrepience @ Peckforton Castle -in Chesire, now I know what Defenders are capable of, absolutely fantastic morning, loved it! Learnt so much about the capabilities, scary in places - can't wait until next time off-road.

Went and picked up a bureau for SWMBO from Bristol, unfortunately it didnt quite fit so we had to come back with the rear door open However on the plus side the exhaust sounds awesome Also won a genuine Abar from Thiefbay so this afternoon or tomorrow's jobs are fitting that along with my new light guards front and rear. I still haven't mentioned the new seats from Killer yet although she did say that the genuine ones weren't comfy so I think I'll try and use the tack of "I thought it would be comfier for us and look they are heated as well " Life is one big adventure, that's why we have the vehicle for the journey.

Side wing intake plate was on floor this morning so out comes the tools, drilled out the crappy plastic pins and fittings. Drilled the plastic cover, screwed the cover on with self tappers and then stole some matt black nail varish from mrs and job done.
Then had to take her shoopping as she spotted the nail varish on the side in the garage |

Fitted the rest of the internal bits of my 'Camel' type cage. Spent much of the morning making the holes for rear hoop in the wheel arches bigger .........then realised that the two lower brackets were the wrong way round and I didn't need to do so much Photo will not be posted of this !!
Hopefully the dual springs, which I decided to go with at the start of my build many years ago, will start to compress now with the extra weight of the cage ! |

Got some compliments given towards me for the lovely looking 90 from a nice young lady. Although admittedly she did say silver but I kept my mouth shut.

Continued my hunt of the annoying squeak in 1st - 3rd gear.
Picked a bale of hay and some guinea pig food. Tried to track the source of an engine oil leak and found a loose glow plug lead. 1999 Defender TD5 110 Regards John M0VAZ Econet Station 48 no clock |

Bought an old Land Rover oval of the bay last week, when it arrived turned out that ther were two bits which was surprise. I have spent the week end cleaning and repainting prior to fixing.
