OK, it looks like there are a number of "TK102" devices from different manufacturers which use different commands and functions. I've got a cunning plan... give me a few days !
Re iOS 4.3 support I might be able to make it work, I'll have to look and see if there's anything I've used that is 5.0 specific.
It will run on an iPad BUT your iPad needs to have SMS text capability to actually do anything meaningful. As well as being a GSM capable iPad it will also need a SIM that allows texts to be sent. It's a bit confusing because iMessage is now installed on all iPads because iMessage can use WiFi to send texts to other iOS devices via the Apple network. TBH I never expected people to run it on an iPad, hence it only runs in "iPhone mode" rather than having optimised iPad screens. I might have a rethink on that http://www.yorkshireoffroadclub.net/ Last edited by davew on 27th Feb 2013 8:11pm. Edited 1 time in total |

An update on the app, those that are signed up for testing should have received a notification that there's a new test version available to download.
I've changed the way the app works in that the buttons on the home view and the message formats the app uses are now device specific. The device definitions are updated against a web site allowing me to upload new devices and change existing device definitions so additional devices can be added without issuing a new version of the app. When you create a device in the app you also choose the device type from the available list and that determines the available functions for the app. I've implemented support for the Xexun TK102-2 devices and will have a go at adding support for VeeTee's tracker in the next couple of days. For the TK102-2 I've added the sensitivity setting. No joy on iOS 4.3, without a complete rewrite iOS 5.0 is as old as I could possibly go with it, sorry http://www.yorkshireoffroadclub.net/ |

New test version added with support for VeeTee's TLT-2H tracker commands.
Let me know if any changes are needed... Because setting the stockade/geo fence and actually turning it on/off are different commands on the TLT-2H I've added a "Stockade Set" button to the map view and the saved stockades view that will set the stockade, you will then need to activate/deactivate it using the buttons on the main view. The map view shows the selected area as a circle for the TLT-2H rather than the square that the TK10* types use. Not all distances are compatible with the TLT-2H as it can't go below 100 metres so bear that in mind - I'll look at sorting that nicely in the next version. Feedback on the TK10* device changes has been positive so if the TLT-2H stuff works OK I'll submit it to the app store. http://www.yorkshireoffroadclub.net/ |

Many thanks Dave,
Give me some time to test it more throroughly. Have done some little tests, calling position and locating sms seems OK, but when setting fence a sytax error is returned: 004+ user password E/Wddd.dddddN/Sdd.dddddRzzz.z eg 0040000E114.10004N22.55705R999.9 Note this is *without* a comma between longtidue and lattitude (the tracker command sends with comma). BTW, I am really pleased you are doing this for my device type! I've removed the comma in the device definition file, it should filter through to the app shortly http://www.yorkshireoffroadclub.net/

I can't seem to get it working with command 004, tried various syntaxes. I will try later more - I am now at work. Command 005 does work, so I used this to set the fence, now waiting if the alarm is triggered if I leave the office later ... ... and it does! So 11 seconds after I left the fence area I got an alert sms! Marvellous, I can't find 005 in the manual but I've changed the definition again to use 005 instead of 004 for the button on the map view, it should update on your phone in 10 mins or so.
Really need the 004 command to work for the stored stockades function as I guess from the sms screen that 005 just uses the current location. http://www.yorkshireoffroadclub.net/ |

Hi Guys,
Just a quick one, I have been looked at these GPS trackers for a while now, before I buy one can you tell me if the one in the link below is the Genuine Xexun TK102-2 type? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/XEXUN-TK102-2-Sm...1c2bc90cd4 I have bought one of these so called units before, but it turned out to be a fake and didn’t function correctly! I don't wish to get caught out again! I have already purchased Daves Whites app in anticipation for when I get the tracker. The app looks great! Regards Rob [/url] |

I tried to open that ebay link and instead of the item offer I promptly got below ebay message...... So now wonder if GPS trackers are outlawed here in Switzerland
