Not soo exciting, started by stripping down the rear LH brakes for a clean out as it is sticking a bit- will need to order a rebuild kit though so I can do the job properly at a later date- but it looks like it is good for now.

Mounted a RAM mount to the top of the dash to attach Radio, Gps etc to.

Wanted to give her a wash but the missus called and said dinner was on the table. So I took a picture of her on the way home with my new toy (50mm manual lens):

Puma has better curves, is smoother to the touch and a less protruding back end Rolling with laughter 1982 88" 2.25 diesel

This morning, post "silly grin" (see general subforum) I fitted some Mud 2nd row door extenders, just like the OEM ones but stainless steel, great quality and finish and fitted in about 10 minutes about £40 a pair.

300 Mile round trip to the Malcom Wilson Rally 2013. Stage was in Comb, Whinlatter Forest.
A quiet day with the exception of a car on its side, that had a small fire (Crew out OK, although a little sore)
Evo required winching out of a ditch with 1 good wheel, 1 rear wheel had a snapped lower wishbone, 1 front had been ripped off and the other again, snapped lower wish bone.
Not winched by my motor but another Disco that was mid stage recovery. 1999 Defender TD5 110

Yeah, I can't bear the look of it at the moment Big Cry Cypriot government don't like it so every time I have to tax or MOT the girl it has to come off- but the Police/ insurance/ legals don't mind it. Once I get my insurance green card I will be putting it all back on Cool. Last time I taxed it they were telling me that the LR rear step/tow bar was illegal in the EU Rolling Eyes

The light bar was from Matt at FCX (was a prototype) but once it got here I completely stripped it down and modified to suit my needs- Perfect for my use at 1/10 (if not less) the price of a RI one.

I head out early June, and plan to arrive in Harwich late September/ early October- the route is changing on a daily basis due to either finding something else I want to explore or being advised by the FCO/ other agencies of other things happening and not to take certain border crossings/ roads. I will probably be back in Blighty on a CompTIA N+ and CCNA course some time in April- just sorting out the paperwork.

Plus I need to wait till it warms up there Cool

Part two of trying to clean the bolt holes in the rear diff on the TD5 in readiness for fitting the diff guards.

Having spent a couple of hours a few weeks ago trying to clean the threads, and failing, I purchased a set of nylon, brass and stainless steel bottle brushes. There are five of each type in the set and they start at 1 cm diameter and go up to about 2.5 cm.

Ten minutes with the 1 cm stainless brush saw both threads cleaned and tested with the bolts.

Next job is to fit the guards, when it gets warmer Thumbs Up
