have you considered that it wasn't mechanical failure in your CK hubs - they infact died of shame?

i shouldn't laugh - i spent 10 minutes last night wondering why i couldn't get the gear cable out of my left hand road sti shifter - until i released the mechanism into the small chainring position Embarassed

Are they Conti Cross Country. I was completely committed to these in 1.5" back in my 26" days.

Yes 1.5's. Though no longer made for the past 2 years, I have 2 good left and a new set from a friend that I've yet to pick up. I only put 1.8's Panaracers on when I go Coed Y !

Though my newly painted bike is having 1.8s for good.

1.9 trailrakers and 1.9 Maxis TT Larsons have been my tyre of choice for the last 10 years or so (whacked up to 40 psi)

perfect for cotswold stone trails round here and the horse chewed muddy bridlepaths.

greeni - i thought you were getting a pipedream?

I was trying to work out what the cranks where, at first I thought middleburn because of the spider, but the narrowing of the crank is very Crank Bros cracktastic but then I figured out they are RSRs.
