Well, simple answer....... stop posting on forums and get fitting Rolling with laughter Might start searching for amps in anticipation..... a 4x22W RMS headunit has no chance of powering a pair of those bad boys!!

True Mr. Green

Take a look at their amps as well, obviously I can't comment on performance (yet) but the build quality certainly looks good Thumbs Up

These are what I am running currently in the front. Did a direct comparison with focal K2, and to my ear came a very close second. Use the fronts just to infil the sound, need the tweeter more than anything else as the fronts just point at your legs or floor. Run of an amp or just head unit. Amped 6x9 enclosures in the rear and a alpine active sub on the bulkhead. Get a really balenced set up with a quality sound, however am looking at swapping the sub. Its good, but runs out of guts and gets dawarfed by the 6x9 once your start to turn it up.

A shallow sub in a homemade custom enclosure under somewhere like the rear seats ???? 8 or 10 inch, if room 2 8" ???? The alpine is good SWE1000 I think, works a treat at low volume to mid. Depending on the music though,
sometimes you need to feel the beat as well as hear it !!!! It just completes the experience Rolling with laughter Some of the shallow mount subs don't need massive boxes say 10" x10" x4" if that helps. Find smaller 8-10 " are more responsive and punchy, so I would sooner have 2 than 1 big one. The big subs have a habit of blurring notes. In this case you the get quantity as well as quality. Although 1 8" proper sub set up will beat what youv,e got

I hate the advertising of that company and it rung alarm bells straight away. They state 400W peak power which is 100W more that 'theloudest.com' so I looked for the RMS value (as that is what is important) and they don't state it anywhere. The closest I can find is the recommended Amp power and they state it should not exceed 50W RMS and 125W Peak....... So it is running at a maximum of 50W RMS..... which is nearly half the 'theloudest.com'

Still better than what I am running though Crying or Very sad

What have you got behind the rear seats?..... My plan is to make a board that starts on the floor up to just below the rear window (where the trim ends). It will be a triangle shape that spans the whole width of the cab. I will then mount my 12" in the middle and low and calculate the litres needed. the area needed will then be boxed in- no ports as that normally doubles the volume needed. Then at the ends I will then see what space I am left with and to box a set of other speakers (hopefully 6x9). There will be plenty of room then under the rear seat/ bolted to the board for the amplifier. To finish it all off it will be trimmed up in black carpet to match the rest of the cab.

I know what you mean Glyn. Its run by a couple of brothers , who make me smile every time I see them. Think its all part of the way companies like to appear bigger than they are. The shop is a real Aladdin's cave, but they are harmless and good fun, so I use them if I can. Only posted the link to show there are other options. I herd them and tested before I brought them. RMS can be very over stated similar to tyre size I find. Earthquake are american and were the kid on the block 15 years ago. I tried them out against the focals K2 and they were a very close second to my ear and it did not warrant another £150+ for focal. Anyways at 70 in a defender the quality is somewhat comprimised Rolling with laughter

presume that is all MDF made ? looks smart. could you not box it off , seperate enclosures for the 6x9 ?
I agree with Glyn enclosures all the way no ports. His suggestion behind the seats sounds good for the subs, although I wouldnt want to be sitting in the back when you turn it up :rolllaugh:
