turbo actuator rod
hi,

I'm sure I recall reading somewhere about the actuator arm moving freely?

I presume this isn't true cos when I've tried moving mine it doesn't budge.....yet I know it works (hopefully as it should)?

Presumably you can't move it while the enginer is off.....in that case how can you check that it does move freely etc?

It should move, but not easily (as in, with yer bare hands)

You'll need some pliers/mole grips on the shaft to get enough grip/purchase on said shaft to move it in and out of the waste gate actuator (it has a chuffin' huge great spring inside it)

You won't be able to move the rod up and down due to the modulator. The actuator rod is mounted onto two ball joints, one on the vane arm and the other onto the modulator. The bar will move and feel loose due to the way it is fitted and the joints should be well greased. Thumbs Up

The Puma uses a modulator to move the vane arm. The Td5 uses a wastegate and you can test that with a pair of mole grips. Thumbs Up
