I have a CTEK charger I bought (from Brendan) a couple of years ago. I also have a CTEK Comfort Indicator which connects permanently to the battery, and the female socket looks like this:
![]() Click image to enlarge Now I want to connect my solar battery charger (because the Defender is now stored in a garage without mains power). The solar charger has a different (of course!) type of plug. I need a (male) plug that looks like the one on the right: ![]() Any ideas where I can source one? Done the usual searches, but turned-up nothing...apart from to buy a CTEK cigarette-type adaptor and cut the end off ![]() |

You can't buy the connectors separately, you'll have to go down the cigarette adapter + cut route.

Thanks, Martin, I was starting to think that may be the case. I did find a German company called "tola tools" who offer this (which would have been a good start)...it's a CTEK "old to New" adaptor: ![]() The product is 6.90 EUR, But the postage killed the idea, it would have been over 20 Euros shipped... ![]() |

IMO by leaving the CTEK lead (socket) bolted to the battery terminals full-time, and now with a source of plugs, it means I can also run accessories from the lead whenever I want, or indeed charge it when it's not being driven for a few weeks. The comfort indicator will let me know if the battery's being discharged. Perfick
![]() For anyone else's benefit (save a few hours of googling), see the part here http://www.ctekchargers.co.uk/ctek-56689.php £4.99 (delivered) from Amazon (thanks to Martin ![]() |

Thanks WarPig - looks perfect.
My Defender often sits for a few weeks without being used (although I somehow managed 9000 miles last year!). I'll be having a play this weekend. There seems to be a dash-mount CTEK battery checker as well - maybe try that one day ![]() It would look good in the Defender dash, and provide a useful plug-in for accessories (or plug-in the CTEK charger): ![]() |

The comfort indicator panel is a good idea, only thing is that the supplied lead would need to be extended to reach the dash. I loosely fitted my one into the nakatanenga safe and fed the cable through an unused mounting hole to the battery. Now as I have swapped the naka safe for a GMB one I will mount the fitting into the front of the safe for ease of access when using the remap interface/diagnostic tools.

Interesting. I didnt realise the ctek panel display was the same size as a carling switch. I have a few blank carlings on my mud console. So can I just replace one with the ctek display? Last edited by WarPig on 25th Jan 2013 9:04pm. Edited 1 time in total |
