Slightly Off Topic to the direction the topic is going but who has hardwired their Sat Nav power supply in? If anyone. A bit of a PITA with all the wires dangling around even with a cigarette lighter adaptor to prevent the problem of the plug getting in the way of 5th gear.
Earlier on, on E-bay in the USA I found a Garmin power cable the same as regular but had a factory looking in-line fuse holder and bare ended wiring to hardwire in instead of using the lighter socket. Only about £12 all in too. âï¸âï¸God Bless the USA 🇬🇧🇺🇸 âï¸âï¸

I fitted a 12v socket inside my glovebox, and piggybacked the power from the 12v socket on the centre dash.

I already have 2x 20A 12V sockets on the undercubby for HD power requirements

The glovebox one is discreet, so I can charge phones, satnavs etc with the lid closed.

That is what I'm looking into doing as well A bit tired of the wires hanging around all over the place and having to route and set it all up before any journey requiring Sat Nav. âï¸âï¸God Bless the USA 🇬🇧🇺🇸 âï¸âï¸

I like it a lot. Hardwired behind the dash and mounted with a Brodit clip above the passenger vent. Great unit with a Freeview TV tuner and nice wide screen. Looks totally discrete with no wires showing.
It also accepts a camera for rear view or keeping an eye on the kids.
Wide screen with lane assist. Good sound. Fast calculation times.

Sounds like good features. Thumbs Up Please excuse my ignorance but what is a Brodit clip? Perhaps I'd recognise it if I saw one.. âï¸âï¸God Bless the USA 🇬🇧🇺🇸 âï¸âï¸

Brodit made The Pro-Clip. An aftermarket product and vehicle specific fit. All really good quality.

I have Tom Tom Go 940 Live which is about 4 years old and was top of the range when new. It came with US and European maps which I have used as well as adding Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. Had to add a memory card to get them all to fit though.

The traffic updates have saved my bacon more than a few times.

It was playing up and rebooting all the time over the last few months and I have been eyeing replacements but it seems to have stabilised of late so going to hang it out a little longer. I have it hard wired in which is one of the reasons I am reluctant to change - all of the new ones use a different connector.

What was your method of hard wiring in? Thumbs Up âï¸âï¸God Bless the USA 🇬🇧🇺🇸 âï¸âï¸

I hard wired in my TomTom Golive. Looks a tidier installation rather than having charging cables everywhere, plus it is a doddle to do. Thumbs Up

You can see the power cable going into the back of the bracket.

When running the cable down the back is there a gap that the cable can fit though? I.e. so it's not crushed between anything. âï¸âï¸God Bless the USA 🇬🇧🇺🇸 âï¸âï¸
