I had the same problem with my 2.2. Took it back to the dealer, they said that LR knew about the problem, a new hose was fitted that the dealer said was slightly different design, I can not see any difference myself, but no problems since.

So you've decided then Tell someone you love them today because life is short.
But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing... |

I have a 2013 MY Defender with just 1100 miles covered; this model is supposed to have the latest and greatest fix to this problem but yesterday off came the turbo hose! I limped along managing just 40mph at times on a rush hour A14 - not too funny! It now needs a new hose as following the failure the hose was abraded by the alternator pulley.
Land Rover Assistance guy (excellent service by the way) suggested that the hose was not installed correctly but I don't have too much confidence, I think I will get some Mikalo hose clamps to replace the factory fit jubilee style clips on the turbo hoses. This is really not rocket science and should have been fixed by now, seems like Land Rover are using their customers to test their vehicles, a good old Lotus technique! I had none of these problems with my 2009 2.4 TDCi over 50K miles |

Would this be a possible definite solution?
http://www.entreq.de/products/performance/...r-td4.html You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation. http://youtu.be/yVRlSsJwD0o https://youtu.be/vmPr3oTHndg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_GtzTT9Pdl0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABqKPz28e6A https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rLZ49Jce_n0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XvAsz_ilQYU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K8tMHiX9lSw https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=dxwjPuHIV7I https://vimeo.com/201482507 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSixqL0iyHw |

ericv, Looks like a good piece of kit, I think the 2.2 and 2.4 are slightly different hence the bulk of the problems being with the 2.2, so correct fitment would have to be confirmed.
For some faults the warning light is supposed to extinguish after 4 ignition cycles once the fault is no longer present. |

The dealer replaced the tube between the turbo and intercooler for a tube with a totally different design and the problem is solved.
If you still have the hard plastic tube between the turbo and intercooler get it replaced by the modify part. |
