I would imagine so yes. I can't see how the bulbs would illuminate those so must be LED as you say. (Sorry I don't have the part number) $W33T $0U7H3RN $UG4R

They're not LEDs, and LEDs do not work satifactorily in this application since the light output is too directional (found that out the hard way). If I recall correctly there are three bulbs altogether for the heater controls. It is possible to replace them working through the radio aperture without disturbing the centre dash panel, but all in all it is probably easier to whip the panel out. |

Blackwolf - I think he means the illumination on the little sliders (looks like a green dot on the end) I can't see how it would be the dash illumination lighting that up due to positioning. $W33T $0U7H3RN $UG4R

Ah, you mean the little round thingy on the knob of the slider?
I think that this is done with a fibre-optic "pipe" through the knob, which catches the light from the bulb. I am pretty sure that there are no connections into the knob. I have my entire dash in bits at the moment to wire up my heated screen, so if I remember I will have a look when I put it all back together tomorrow. My earlier comments about the unsuitability of LEDs refer of course to the use of LEDs to replace the little capless bulbs (I tried it and it didn't work - I just got a number of very bright spots on an otherwise dark heater control panel). |

Ah I see. LED's can be very directional. It's a pity illumination colour can't be changed on the Puma but the green 'filters' on the components prevent that. regardless of coloured bulbs. $W33T $0U7H3RN $UG4R

cheers blackwolf - as you say it might just be a hollow light tube as the upper slider is reasonably bright but the lower is very dim, which would tie in with Steve's pictures of dash bulb locations.
if you can confirm that would be great |

I have heard that they have an output that's too directional. Would be interesting to know what the 2.2 has though. I thought I heard that some were going LED on those. $W33T $0U7H3RN $UG4R 🇬🇧🏴🏴🏴🇮🇪🇺🇸⛽️🛢️⚙️🧰💪 |

There are four bulbs; one for each rotary knob and one over the centre of each slider. The slider knobs are lit by the bulbs above them and have a fibre-optic pipe from a collector on the back to the little round "light" on the knob.
If the lower slider is dark, the bulb above it has failed. The bad news is that this one is very awkward to get at! I answered the question about replacing the bulbs with LEDs earlier in the thread. |

As Blackwolf mentions there is actually four but not showing in the picture because of the angle.
For anyone interested. I bought my bulbs from Neil @ Shukers parts. $W33T $0U7H3RN $UG4R 🇬🇧🏴🏴🏴🇮🇪🇺🇸⛽️🛢️⚙️🧰💪 |
