I'd go dynamat (or StP soundproofing, same product essentially but muuuuch cheaper) why? Because the noise killer is like sponge between 2layers of rubber, this traps water and stinks to high heaven! Where I used to work we threw away a lot of old noisekiller, if you are certain it will stay dry it is an excellent product! Also look at
Skins soundproofing...guess what I am doing to the 110 at the minute!? Using a mix of dynamat, StP and conveyor belt/stable matting. 1990 Defender 110 200TDI Camper - now converted to Td5 power |

Dynamat is a massive brand too. Used a lot in the USA as well in some of the very best custom vehicles / audio sponsored cars.

Dynamat used it for years and years.
Strayed away tried cheaper brands and have now given up trying and just stick with Dynamat it is the best and worth every penny. |

Ditto on Dynamat.
Noisekiller type is too heavy and doesnt mould to body and hence falls off as glue cant hold it, nor the cans of the spray stuff used afterwards. Also falls off under the bonnet. |

Fitted Noisekiller on the 110 and it works well but ..... as said above, it drinks up the water and the first time you know it is waterlogged is when it starts leaking out. Takes forever to dry as well.
Got Dynamat in the 90 and it has been soaked a few times now and it does not absorb the water. Comparing the two, Dynamat wins hands down. already got bulk kit and some more sheets on order. 6 sheets have arrived and awaiting the rest
Heard of a good trick is to put it in an airing cupboard for a while to let it warm up and soften and makes it much easier to apply, much like they do in manufacturing with the wiring. =================================== Steve 90 xs sw in Stonoway Grey - Sold 110 USW X-TECH |

I use Dynamat Extreme on all of our Defender builds. It's a brand I've used and trusted for many years, and will continue to use. Have recently tried a similar product from skinz, which comes in smaller sections, but was more labour intensive to install, and I questioned how effective it would be on the inside of the roof. I only used two boxes of that, and finished the rest of the car off with Dynamat. It's not cheap, but you'll only ever have to do the job once! Dynamat also sticks to the underside of the puma bonnet really well too.
I use a portable electric oil filled radiator, whenever we install this stuff. Lay a sheet over the top of the radiator, while installing a section. By the time you've finished a section, the one on the radiator will be lovely and pliable, and extremely sticky. Apply with a plastic wall paper roller. Mind the foil as well, as it'll slice through fingers easily!  |
