Advice or recommendations for a replacement HU for a 90 XS Puma. I'm not a hi if buff but like the radio and music with reasonable quality. The present system isn't too bad for my needs but what I would like is:

FM with/without DAB
Able to play mp3
CD
SD card or front USB stick connection
I do not use the mobile phone whilst driving so BT is of no use. When driving it's my time so I don't answer the phone.

There are so many systems out there that I am totally swamped. If anyone has any recommendations I would be eternally grateful. Oh, one more thing - Plug and Play. Bow down LANDYWATCH

It is indeed a good attitude. However you do see a lot of people pulling over just to answer the phone in the wrong places and IMO that's much worse and more dangerous than using BT. With a good set up connected whilst driving and it rings with BT you should only need to press one button and that's it. No different to having a passenger really. However if it's a call from someone and you know it'd be a heated convocation then I'd ignore that, Say you cleared off before the mother in-law arrived and the wife rings you up. I'm of the old brigade - pre mobile phone era. My mobile is for my convenience not anyone else's and my family know that. Might be something to do with the fact that I work in a hospital and at work I have a bleep now mobile phone so that I can be contacted immediately and that has been the case for the last 30+ years. outside of work I just don't get the idea of immediacy. If I'm not there then their is nothing I can do so they can phone/text and I will respond when I stop next at my destination or to attend to nature. Nothing is that urgent and we managed for many, many years without mobile phones. Rant over. Bow down
So does anyone have any recommendations for a HU Question LANDYWATCH

As far as recommendations go I'd go Kenwood but model wise is completely upto you and what you'd like out of it. Prices range between roughly £60 and £600 - £800 with DVD NAV ect. KEEP CALM AND Drill ON

Thanks custom90steve. I'm thinking of this one Kenwood KDC-DAB4551U DAB. Is it Plug and Play with the Puma wiring loom. Question Says it has an Iso connector. Bow down LANDYWATCH

That's the one I'm interested in too. If you look in this months Land Rover International magazine your see it's being fitted to a 110 as a featured article. Cheers,

Should be plug and play. Thumbs Up Thumbs Up However you will need a single DIN radio cage approx £6 (you probably know this already) worth checking whether the HU comes with a cage and security keys. If it doesn't purchaswe extra if it does all well and good. Also in the details it say's you'll need one of these: http://www.kenwood-electronics.co.uk/produ...AB-Aerial/
I wouldn't be put off though doubt it's too difficult to fit in. KEEP CALM AND Drill ON

Standardised fit matey. As I mentioned previously just check to see if the HU come's with one or not first. Two wouldn't be any use to you. Thumbs Up On the flip side if you do they are relatively cheap and easy to sell. Also will you be able to remove the LR unit easily? KEEP CALM AND Drill ON
