I think they're winning ....
they're wearing down ...I'm exhausted..... Big Cry

I can't take much more.

after a ecu within the first few months (off for 2-3 weeks) followed by a couple of trips to solves leaks (2 or 3 days at a time), followed by trips to various dealers and indi to sort rough engine (nothing found) followed by more recent 4 weeks off road for various corrosion items and rough running and then within 2 weeks clutch/gearbox/transferbox failed and now over a week later and I still don't have my car back !!
WTF !

Big Cry

Its just the newness wearing off!
Seriously, Matford have had my 110 for about three weeks now, and one + a bit weeks previously (I've only owned it four months!), so I know how you feel. Evil or Very Mad
Just stick with it & I'm sure it'll all be alright in the end. Whistle '57 Defender 110 XS Station Wagon 2.4tdci

Hmmm, not sure what I'm doing wrong recently - I promise that I've only pressed the 'submit' button once! Shocked
Will try again when I'm Censored ed & see if that resolves the problem Whistle '57 Defender 110 XS Station Wagon 2.4tdci

I used to think that reliability issues with Defenders were exaggerated but now I think that you'd be hard pressed to find one without any issues. Hard to believe given that its a fairly simple truck with a Ford transit engine!!
I can feel your pain.

I beg to disagree. I've had no mechanical problems with my 2010MY 90 XS, 29,000 miles, apart from some corrosion on window frame, front mud flap brackets and front bumper, all sorted under warranty. We hear of and discuss problems with our Defenders on the forums but thats us. Many owners do not and do not have significant problems thats why Land Rover can sell all they build. OOPs' , But you must admit that the owners who post on these forums with their problems are not fully representative of all those who own and drive Defenders, and if things were as bad as these forums would seem to indicate then the Defender would no longer be in production because it just would not make commercial sense for Land Rover and for Owners at large.

There might well be over a 1000 car years with no mechanical issues if you look at ALL Defender type vehicles from Land Rover built since 1947! Whistle Whistle LANDYWATCH

Hmm the method of construction means that its the luck of the draw whether you get one with either the usual gripes (leaks, wiper wheelboxes etc etc) or major mechanical problems. I hope your woes are sorted soon Caterham. Just cane that warranty and keep the faith ! Thumbs Up
