Hi Laralandy,
Welcome to the forum, another Dorset member. ![]() Each to their own, I personally think the snorkel depicted resembles the top cowl on my woodburning stove. Most snorkels I believe will involve some form of bodywork drilling. With care and attention to detail these holes can be kept to a minimum diameter often several millimetres smaller than the instructions state and if prepared/assembled correctly will give you no further issues. Dependant on location/time etc. etc. if you wish advice/help in fitment either myself or another Dorset forum member may be able to offer assistance. Think this is the one you mean.....only 'advertised' as up to TD5 compatable...going rate seems to be about £160-£170... ![]() ![]() Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!! ![]() Click image to enlarge This is the Mantec one fitted to my TD5. No drilling of the wing as it uses the existing vent mounting holes. Will it fit a Puma? They are only 'advertised' as up to 2006 TD5 compatable.

I have seen one fitted on a Puma locally
![]() Checked it against the 110 before I fitted it on the TD5 and could see no reason why it would not fit. That's the type I have (edit - I am referring to the picture in K9F's post above, th metal type) , which I actually prefer to the plastic jobbies (which remind me of the soil pipe on the outside of a house, so each to his own)! It is also (as far as I know, and please anyone correct me if I am wrong) the only type that'll fit with a roll cage.
It does however require 4 holes to be drilled in the RH of the windscreen frame for the brackets. No drilling in the wing is needed. I am another of the sizeable Dorset contingent (Poole/Blandford area) and I am sure we could arrange for you to see my RAI if you wanted. Last edited by blackwolf on 4th Nov 2012 2:15pm. Thanks for your kind and generous offer but I've a 'pole' of my own to caress and admire, also being made of plastic won't be so cold to the touch as yours..... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!! |

Hmmm now i am confused lol. Thats the one im thinking of bob neville, thanks to all for the replys, top lads. I have just seen one on the dreaded ebay from mps trading that claim puma fitment. But the price seems some what high considering the mantec hat plastic jobby is cheaper on paddocks and to be honest i prefer the look. I was told safari snorkels require the most drilling. I Guess ill have to man up and charge me cordless drill!! measure twice and all that lol.

Page two of this link at the bottom
![]() http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic12644-15.html Shown fitted to a Puma with a cage but that is not an issue as the flexi tube will allow it back against the pillar. Thanks Ada... The one I have is a Mantec mushroom one, which fitted to the SVX rollcage... There was no drilling involved to remove it ![]() Make me an offer... beer, cash, naked pictures of your wife... To be fair, it's never going back on the SVX, and it's in ok nick, so it's gonna be cheap lol '09 SVX #200 '10 Morphy Richards.. I mean Prius |
