Revived a memory or two there.....I actually in approximately 1979 ish had a Mk 1 Escort that had an 8 track fitted under the dash. Due to the size of the cartridges you'd only have room for two or three of them in the vehicle or you had to sacrifice passenger space if you wisjhed to carry more of them, slot them in and listen to the clunk and whirring before the music commenced. My how we've advanced. ![]() Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!! |

got mine all fitted - really happy with it
![]() quick question - where did everyone mount their GPS receiver? I have put mine on the underside of the top of the dash but not sure if it needed a line of sight to the sky..... ![]() |

In the middle of the top of the dash nearly touching the windscreen, in line with the clock....Line of sight is always best. ![]() Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!! |

I got a present of a parrot asteroid for Christmas fitted it an love it it's great for streaming music to which is handy. Having a problem with it lately and I'm sure it has happened to others who have the unit. As I'm driving along it just crashes turns itself off for a few seconds and then turns itself back on again. Is it a problem with the head unit do I need to return it or is there something I can do to fix it!?
Cheers Geoff |

Updated mine a week ago now and it's even better.
You must reset the unit before reinstalling. A friend of mines stopped working went completely blank. You take the cover off and hold the reset in for 20 seconds. Put the cover back Put a memory stick in with the latest update Press and hold the parrot and white button and it updates. To reconnect your iphone you need to delete it of your connections list and re-search it. I've put this on as I've heard a few people have said theirs has died. Having seen a dead one now full of life might be worth a go. The update now talks English and can say people's names right. Also you say accept to answer calls which makes it proper hands free. Also am convinced it sounds better but that is probably just me. |
