I've got a couple of completely shot 7.50 x 16's on steel rims that you're welcome to come and take away. They came on a Sankey trailer that I've bought but have now been replaced by something more, er, legal. Darren

LRA,
Thanks for the offer but after something bigger, much bigger and weighing in around the 100kg mark or more. Proper big tractor/earth mover/dumper truck size. Thanks agian!!!! Thor Strong people are harder to kill and generally more useful! |

the issue you nhave is that Large commercials tyre carcasses have a great value so i doubt they would be free unless damaged beyond repair. You'll need to go to your agri dealer / commercial tyre depot and have a word.
I 've seen this type of training popping up. Centurion / gladiator style strength and endurance..interesting! |

Tig,
Yeah that's what I'm finding out! My mate amd I have one tractor tyre already that we got locally but it's now to light so only good for the sledge hammer really. We managed to get that one for nothing so aiming to do the same (or cheap as poss) after spending out on a prowler sled and atlas stone. I love the old way of training and try to keep 'weight lifting' to the bare essentials like Olympic lifts (overhead squat/cleans/deadlifts etc) My mate and I (a personal trainer) have the sled, a battle rope, hammer and tyre, body harnes for dragging the tyre and 110, 80kg log and atlas stone amongst other bits and pieces. Fortunately we get to keep it all where he works and can use the rear car park for our 'Spartan workouts'. Keeping fit works - I come off my motorbike on Friday morning at 70mph over the handle bars bounced down the road a bit and into some bushes etc. A little sore but still managed my Saturday session. Now decided I want to be like the Incredible Hulk haha Babbled on a bit there..... Strong people are harder to kill and generally more useful! |

When you say big tyres, how big is big? I'm local to you and should be able to come up with a couple, just need some terms of reference before I go hunting!

head down to any big commercial tyre company. there is one near me (all the way down in east sussex). you should get them for free. they have to pay to dispose of them, tried charging me 50 notes if i wanted to leave it with them to dispose of it so i kept it!!!. i have a big 5ft tall tractor tyre but only ways 80kg your welcome to have but i live in east sussex.
i think by the sounds of it you need some bigger than that. this will be heavy.... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/solid-tyre-1200-...4abcdfc05b or try and get some with the steel centres still in, that would add alot of weight!! i need to get back into training... i only do it for the beech bod... and to see how much i can bench Last edited by chadjizz on 7th Oct 2012 5:02pm. Tig,
I dabble in the spin for some cardio as the Mrs is a personal trainer and teaches a load of classes like spin/rpm/pump etc but not really my thing....especially the Zumba. Spin is a FULL ON SWEAT!!! The tyre and hammer already gets used in my mates super circuit class Chad, I get to gatwick area quite often but on the motor bike, sounds about the same as the one I already have. I'd certainly take it off you if I was heading that way with the 110 and trailer. PM me where abouts you are as I'm due a trip december time to Kent to see a mate......so could kill a couple birds with one stone if you still have it Cheers all! Chad,
Yeah the one in your link would get emotional pretty soon, that's right up my street. The steel centres would give the weight but we flip, jump into the centre, dead lift it, jump back out and flip again. Wouldn't rule it out though! Bench press mate. The sign through out the ages of a 'real man' haha. Every one loves a bit of bench, we're going to see what our one rep max is on Friday on everything so I'll post the results of my man test. I do 120kg for 5 during a strength circuit and thats straight after deadlift and pull ups so hoping to see 150-160 for 1. Right more googling for heavy bits of rubber......after I've done the dishes apparently Strong people are harder to kill and generally more useful! |

bloody hell
what were you like before..... Sorry! same as most James....fat and out of breath! that statement wasn't exactly true...early years in Karate and then 7 years of competitive taekwondo saw me super fit...but i damaged my shoulder, never had the corrective op due to work load, (couldn't afford the time off) and got married im enjoying my fitness stuff like i never did but with the big 40 looming i can feel the weakness setting in and want to combat it as much as i can. Once i've had 6 months in the new role i'll get the shoulder op booked in on the Bupa and get it sorted.....i liked a punch up before going out on a friday night Last edited by T1G UP on 7th Oct 2012 7:07pm.
