Big power to weight ratio mate!! I'm 98kgs now at 6ft and 18% body fat. have dropped from 108 kgs at 29% (29% beer) Embarassed Aiming for 95kgs at 15%. I'm broad across the shoulders and back though as do love to train shoulders and hammer pull ups! Always been big but quite fit with it due to being an ex infantry corporal. Even coming back from 14 weeks in Belize i was 88kgs and shredded!!

Tig don't worry about age. A guy at our gym is 41, totally ripped, eats clean, strong as an ox and knocks out muscle-ups like there's no tomorrow. His line is "I'm 41, work full time and have three kids - there are no excuses!!"

jst - if you were closer i'd be up for helping haha Strong people are harder to kill and generally more useful!

Jolly, thanks so much for the offer mate I'd be up tomorrow if you were closer. Best part of 600 mile round trip in fuel would be more than a couple tractor tires on ebay. You don't know the names of any companies similar to yours that I could contact nearer my way that could have any laying around?? Thanks again, much appreciated!!

Been a while since I updated this thread. I got down to Staysure tyres and got a couple for training. Some for dragging, some for throwing then the daddy for flipping!

The big one is such a mental game, unless you go at it with confidence it just wont go. The tyres have become a big part of our saturday morning conditioning session along with the prowler sled and 'strongman' training log.

A massive thanks to jollymuckshifter for getting me in touch with Staysure tyres. I'm planning another trip down there soon, need a couple more, some smaller....one bigger!

150-160kg - bloody hell, remind me to give you a shout next time the inserts for the double beadlocks need changing!

Quick up date.

I've been nailing the training over december, even managed to give my self a "a bulging disc" in my lower back so had to adjust training to suit as I believe you can train around any injury as long as you're sensible. Stopped the dead lifts, clean and jerks and tyre flipping etc and concentrated on pull ups, dips, bench and olympic ring work while doing some back rehab.

Whist aiming for 150-160 for 1 n the bench, I managed to get 150kg out for 5 with assistance required on the 6th so still unsure of my 1 rep max. Chuffed with that and the progression on my pull ups, even managing 5 with 20kg hanging from the belt (still weighing in at 98kg)

20kg bar, 4 x 20kg plates and 2 x 25kg chains

Cheers Norm4n - Sound silly but nothing other than for my self mate. I enjoy it, I love researching the net and bouncing ideas around with mates finding new ways of improving myself, my training and my health.

For some reason the the agony caused by DOMS (Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness) keeps me going back 7 times a week. I do a couple of split sessions a week like tomorrow will be 06:00 cardio then back for proper training around 17:00.

I've not set any goals for this year except eat clean and train as hard as I can when I step foot in the gym or when I train at home.

Fortunately for my Mrs is in the fitness industry as personal trainer and soon to be gym manager so she very understanding about me being out the house so much and me aching all the time..haha Strong people are harder to kill and generally more useful!
