Comes with a standard timer which was installed on the dash on the right hand side.
Yes one way valve on the expansion bottle, seems to be a new addition Webasto now supply. Helps prevent air locks as the Webasto sits at a similar height to the expansion bottle. Tank dropped and a new feed installed. D44 had to work with Webasto to find a new method of installing a new feed. They used my tank as a prototype as land rover have discontinued the fitting on the top of the tank that was used for the entry of the pickup tube. Webasto and D44 now have a new method of installing the pickup might be worth a call and speak to Martin. Whilst tank was dropped they installed the new auxiliary fuel tank as well. The only thing I need to check today is the connection of the Webasto into the cooling circuit. Looks like the FBH is plumbed in line from from engine to the heater. i.e. water in one side of FBH and out of the other side straight into heater matrix. Presumably If heater matrix is turned off there will be no flow from FBH around engine circuit. Webasto are consulted during the install of these and D44 have done quite a few, so I presume its the correct way of plumbing in. There were some interesting vehicles in at D44 one or two were there having the same work completed. cheers, regarding the connection into the water system, sounds the same as the tdci's. The tdci's you can switch the cabin heater to blue and the water will no run through the internal radiator/heat exchanger - but when the fan is switched on the cabin will remain cold... People who went to NK this year were running their heaters for about an hour to warm them up. I think webastos are becoming a very popular mod on the defenders. What's your new fuel tank capacity in total now ? what do you think your new range is ? |

Yes to the popular modification possibly as more Landies are heading up North on little adventures.
Will be interesting to look at the installation manual today that came with the FBH. As you Know my TD5 was one of the last so maybe the heater matrix works the same as yours. Regarding the new capacity, I think standard was 60 litres on the SWB TD5 so with the new tank must be 90 litres. My original range from full to fuel light coming on was about 260 miles. The reserve would have probably taken it upto 300 miles although I never tried  With the new tank would guess the range will be about 450 ish or at least 400 until the fuel light comes on. Filled up yesterday over at D44 and drove 80 miles back home fuel gauge didn't move. 2007 TD5 90 Hard Top |

- does it still work  - seriously, sounds like an excellent upgrade.
is the webasto fitted on the front chassis leg ? - mine is installed over the exhaust manifold - but mine is LHD, just interested if D44 have a new place ? Some people fit them behind the headlamps, others in the transmission tunnel ... |

Steve Do you mean the water still runs through the matrix when the heater control is turned to blue ?
Does it still work  ........ I did think about that

on the tdci - when the heater control is turned to blue, the engine water does not flow through the internal matrix
it's probably the same on the td5's |

So how is yours plumbed in, directly in line or is there a bypass hose and one way valve ? 2007 TD5 90 Hard Top |

Has anyone T'd into a standard fuel line to run a fuel burning heater?
If so which one and what fitting did you use? I have an Eberspacher air blown heater that I might fit to my Puma, but don't really want to drop the tank, I could fit a smaller tank but I would forget to fill it...... Cheers Keith |

you can get a fitting that fits in the filler neck of the tank. saves dropping the tank on with fabbing my bracket at the mo |

I think this is the filler adapter TIG suggested
https://sales.butlertechnik.com/l-rover-de...pipe-20300 But they list lots of T pieces too so someone must fit them, I can't think of a reason why they wouldn't work, plus you would receive a filtered supply too.... |
