I remember when I changed all my bolts an refitted my NAS step that the two big boys are definitely M16. I didn't need to put any fixings into the upper four so I can't say for sure but I think you're right that they are M12.

From what I have read td5 cross members are not really that strong for fitting pintles to and you need some serious spreader plates, which in and of it's self means clearence issues with the fuel tank. That said they ought to be m12 assuming no one has messed with them in the past. Rhubarb and custard let fly with their secret weapon.

It will have quite a lot of support when all is done. Unfortunately I can't re-enforce from behind but the hitch is mounted to a plate which will be bolted on all 6 holes which then is fastened below to the chassis mounts for the tow bar. I'll post pictures up when i'm done. |

If you haven't already seen them, you might want to look at the following threads:-

Thanks, read those before. I posted. I was sure they were M12 corse thread. I didn't want to forse them in and create a bigger problem.
I think I have found a good mounting solution that allows my to tow the Sankey at the correct height, maintain the departure angle when off-road and allow me to tow regular trailers at the correct hitch height. |
