Hi RRUK.
My personnel view on the side sticker is no! You've got a beautiful truck with all the work you've put in on it, and I feel the sticker just isn't in keeping with it. Maybe not as constructive or eloquent a response as you might have been hoping for, but there it is. Ste 96 2.5 N/A LWB 110 Hardtop |

I am in agreement. I think I will peel them off.
No offense or anything taken don't worry. We all try different things, at least I didn't paint it pink or something! 2016 D4 HSE 1998 110 TUM HS FFR Hard Top XD WOLF 1982 Series 3 SWB Petrol |

They are very clever those stickers but I presume both sides are identical and not 'handed', in which case the 'tear' in the bodywork on this side was done whilst reversing .....

No they were handed. After I peeled it off I placed it on the panel in front of the rear wheel arch at an angle and it looked much better there! Oh well. They are in the bin now. I prefer the clean OE look 2016 D4 HSE 1998 110 TUM HS FFR Hard Top XD WOLF 1982 Series 3 SWB Petrol |

Hi RRUK,
Great job on the work you've done. I'm planning on doing the sound insulation similar to yours, how many of the sheets have you used so far to cover the rear of the van..? Cheers Simon |

To do the entire roof, rear sides and rear quarters, under bonnet and rear tub I needed 6 rolls of 100x123cms, and I have some off cuts left over.
Interestingly at Billing last weekend I saw Noisekiller's stand and they were selling a 'kit' to do the underbonnet in the exact same material, but they wanted £50, the same amount of material cost me about £12 by comparison and I cut it out myself. They are a rip off. Quite a few stands were selling the Aluminium foil back foam rolls actually, and for more than I paid 2016 D4 HSE 1998 110 TUM HS FFR Hard Top XD WOLF 1982 Series 3 SWB Petrol |

Interested in what you paid, as the link you posted earlier in the thread shows £26/sheet. Is there a better option..? Cheers Simon |

No, what I was trying to say was that the amount you actually need to do the under bonnet is about half a sheet in total, so half of that £26. Make sense? 2016 D4 HSE

A bit of work this afternoon, removed 2 road wheels one the same side and started painting the chassis with Satin finish black hammerite. You'd be amazed how far this stuff spreads. Some areas you just cant reach with a brush so I may either buy some in a spray can or, just finish those bits off when I spray the Waxoyl on.
I hope to have the chassis and axles painted by the end of next weekend, let the paint go off and then do the waxoyl another weekend. Also gave the tree sliders a fresh coat, inside the front bumper, the two rods behind the front grille etc. The axles had got to that orange look with surface rust so they will look much better now. Coming soon: Wiring up the heated seats with a kit I have bought to do the job. 2016 D4 HSE 1998 110 TUM HS FFR Hard Top XD WOLF 1982 Series 3 SWB Petrol |

Freddy,
Thanks for reading it all and thanks for the feedback. Looking back I wish I had taken even more photos now. Keep reading, there's always plenty of jobs to do on a Land Rover and making improvements is the most satisfying thing. I'm not a mechanic but if I can do these things then anyone can. Forgot to mention the Alpine head unit had to be sent back as the front face would no longer pop off, and it had been used 3 times! A bit poor but never mind. While its out it gives me the access I need to get behind the centre dash for the heated seats etc. 2016 D4 HSE 1998 110 TUM HS FFR Hard Top XD WOLF 1982 Series 3 SWB Petrol |
