I've joined this club over the weekend, probably done the most miles on the original pump (40k).
I went to check the oil, water, etc under the bonnet on Saturday and noticed the oil spray all over the underside of the bonnet.

This happened at 11am (saturday of bank holiday w/e), I rang Land Rover assist and the guy was with me within 45 minutes (11:40ish). He took the old one off straight away and went off to James Edwards in Chester to get a replacement. 2 Hours later new part on (with XP code).

Can't fault the service at all, this makes up for the part going in the first place

Having replaced several vacuum pumps I was keen to ensure the replacement pump on my 09 Puma was the latest available. There is some confusion with the latest tech bullitin, as shown by Eduardo. The latest version of the pump has been in production since late January 2009. The bulitin says it should be 148** but LR didnt tell the makers. Therfore pumps are still being manufactured with the old number 12384. After the number there is a date code, eg 31D09, this would be a pump manufactured 31st April 2009 and would therefore be the latest version.

My origional pump failed at 5000miles and the new one has survived 2000, so hoping the problems solved. I still carry a spare all the time, and can change it in under 20 minutes. Whats broken now ?

there are actually 3 versions.

The 2nd replaced teh 1st and went straight to protected stock in the UK and couldnt be ordered...in theory if you have one of these fitted off this list (i have) then its the latest as these were check and distributed centrally specially.

The 3rd has not long been released. Mike

Hi, my brake vacuum pump begins to lose oil, not too much, but there is a slight halo near the pulley.
My 110 is of January 2009 and it has 33.000 km now, do you think I can require the substitution from LR? Matteo
