Lorryman is the person you need advice from...Drop him a 'pm.'
Driving with a MIL light constantly on due to a disconnected EGR would drive me nuts...Also you could potentially mask a more serious issue as you would not know whether another fault has been thrown up. If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!! Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!! |

screening this forum, I found an advice from Lorryman in another topic, saying the best moment to clear the DTC codes is when the engine has just shut down. I guess it is a voltage issue, but it worked!

the engine has to be off but the ignition on to clear the codes.

Glad you got it sorted If the scangauge doesn't allow you to clear a dtc you can always do a hard reset. Disconnect the earth lead off the battery and press the brake a couple of times to discharge any stored capacitance. Then after 10mins reconnect, then switch on ignition and clear the dtc's. Or you can disconnect both terminal leads and touch them together, personally I prefer the first option. Brian. |
