That is an object of beauty
Ignore my previous stupid question - do you modify an (my) existing one or can you get hold of one second hand? Tell someone you love them today because life is short. But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing... Last edited by ZeDefender on 20th Jul 2012 5:19pm. Edited 1 time in total |

For mine i modified the original but for Chads I bought a new fascia and modified it.
If you have heated seats etc. I can make a switch unit that fits on the cubby box, on mine I have put a switch console with electric windows, heated seats, winch & spot light switches on, all using the original defender switches, just extend the wiring. i'll take a photo and post it as well. Mine is a Kenwood DNX4280. The colour on Chad's has turned out really well, i'm thinking of respraying mine in Brunel Silver as well now! |

Doh!
I spent ages looking for something like this and was too daunted to try it myself and ended up with an Android tablet on the SVX style Garmin mount fixed to the top of the dash. If you were to make any more of these, have you any idea of the rough cost? |

How much do you see from the screen because of the angle and when the sun shines? I am asking becuase my 1 DIN Radio with its shiny cover over the display just reflects the sunlight.

Thanks for your messages.
I don't have any problem with viewing the screen, my wife & I use the satnav a lot and the kids watch films on it without any problems. Sunlight doesn't seem to be a problem but then I do live in the UK! |

Be careful doing that if you are actually playing any video of any type in the front whilst driving. Apparently as I found out a few weeks ago it's illegal to do so.. Unless of course it's only when stationary. ⭐️⭐️God Bless the USA 🇬🇧🇺🇸 ⭐️⭐️ |

[quote="busdriver"]I have just finished building another double din fascia for another member on this forum. We havent fitted it yet as his new vehicle hasnt arrived but I thought Id put a picture up as itll be a couple of weeks before it is fitted.
Click image to enlarge It is finished in Brunel silver to match the trim round the vents and dials, the vehicle is a pick up and doesnt have that many switches so we have relocated the hazard light switch to the cigarette lighter socket and are going to relocate the socket to the shelf in front of the passenger. When its fitted in the vehicle well put a photo of it installed. This was how mine turned out. While I have all the tools out I was thinking of building another one, if anyone is interested send me a pm. Click image to enlarge[/quote Looks fantastic! What does this cost? |
