Strange. Puma 2.2 for 2014 went from 122 bhp to 117 bhp for reason of compliance with EU5 emission norms. But the Puma 2.2 from day 1 has been compliant with EU5 emission norms. You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation.

And why invest in making something compliant with a regulation if you don't intend to sell it for much longer, not worth the investment, unless it was an external supplier factor or the intention is to keep things going longer than we think www.td5.org

Can't remember exact details but I think despite peak power dropping, think torque has stayed same and over a wider range. Peak power revs has also come down so hopefully just as much useable power? Cheers, David
Land Rovers of all shapes S3 onwards… Daily is a 110 V8. |

They really are stabbling the old truck in the back on its way out aren't they?
They'll be fitting leasf springs to it soon too. |

It's very much like they did with the D4. It started off as 600nm and 245bhp. They then changed it to the very same 600nm but gave it 255bhp.
Torque delivery even though the same max power was slightly different on the two models, as Landrover had told us the torque on the new one starts 200rpm sooner it may also finish 200rpm later which will effect the final max bhp figure. Smoke and mirrors really tbh and nothing to worry about as its only figures, I think the drivability won't be any less as it has a fraction less bhp and as a calculated wheel figure loss its very minimal. Either way its going to get a PROPPER whipping from me that will blow all the factory standard figures apart "again" hehe. I'll have one on the Dyno in early December if not before time pending Killer, more info should be available on Topix site in the next few weeks. Pete. Is the new remote anything special? looks like it's just the plain old 10AS controlled lock/unlock unit, but in a new wrapper.

Very similar to the Evoque key. If the metal cover contains an emergency key we are in for a treat..keyless. LR could be fitting a different steering lock and removing the ignition key. Doubt it does though! www.td5.org |
