Boy, I just got the same model. I read that there had been probs with the new one so the old one was back in. Haven't fitted it yet, been reading up on fitting tips. Also heard Safari removed the online fitting instructions because. Other manufacturers were copying them.

Thanks for the reply mermoto. It has got me quite worried and when I went to the website and it only confused me more. Don't know if I should fit it today or leave it in case I have the wrong one.

Bob Neville has just fitted a RAI to his 90 - really good design as it does not require any drilling into the wing - just a though

Yes but click the link for puma and it says SS581HF and the photo shows that model and not the SS580HF

I ordered a 81 and a 80 turned up for a Puma, still fitted..
What I have seen is there was a model with exposed bolts on the outside, which is a damn site easier to fit than the one with hidden bolts....so I ordered one for the td5 and the old style turned up, so I fitted that Is that what the difference is? How about a photo? |

Yes the done above was ordered (or thats what she thought she ordered ) which is SS581HF but the one that tured up looks like the one below and says SS580HF on the paperwork inside.
Why would they make two different types for one engine model? Thanks for all the input. |

God knows If you're not sure.....believe me the top one is a damn sight easier to fit than the bottom one...hold on and wait until the suppliers open and ask for the above one, although they both may fit, it's not what you asked for

Yes there are two Safari snorkels for Pumas.
My understanding after talking to the importers there are currently two models Ss581HF and the SS580HF. The 581 model has been superseded by the 580, so if you have been soup plied with the 580 you have got the current version. Brendan PS Edited to add if you check on the Australian Safari site the snorkel listed for Pumas are SS580HF, read the actual blurb and they refer to the 581 in the text! OK then so it seems that the SS581HF is now out and the SS580HF has replaced it. So that means I have got the correct one. I wonder why the 581 was withdrawn?
