Yes mine makes strange noises as well, first gear, no accelerator just moving slowly across a field etc. I thought it was backlash in the transfer box, but there's so much back lash everywhere, it could be anywhere! Keith |

Hi Rossy,
Mine is exactly the same. It can even do it if you labour the engine when pulling away in second too. It clears once the revs are sufficiently high enough though. It does make you cringe a bit when you hear it, but I guess its one of those many Land Rover traits. I can't recall my 2.4 making the same noise but it does sound as though it is coming from the transmission rather than the engine. Cheers DMAKX |
