2008 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 XS CSW Stornoway Grey

Knockin noise

just bought a 110 xs 2008 ( has a td5 disco before ) allready booked in for ecr valve replacement after owning for less than a week, now noticied a knocking noise(like a lound tappet) in idle which goes away when the clutch is pressed, olny makes the noise when warm
Ideas Please

That is the ubiquitous clutch friction plate fault I'm afraid.

If you look through the Puma area you'll see the clutch replacement poll.

I think that about a quarter of all 2007/2008 Puma Defenders have had their clutches replaced.........I know as I have had one replaced.

County Landrover changed my clutch without any question 3 months after I bought mine.
