Perspex Headlight Covers!
I saw a yellow G4 in Chichester Marina last week that had perspex covers over the headlights. They looked quite good in passing but didn't see them properly, so not sure I want them. Just wondered where you can get them from...I have got through two headlights from stone chips so far Sad

Oh and what's a yellow G4 Confused Think it was a TD5 as well Confused

Zag,

Following the first Land Rover G4 Challenge in 2003, G4-Edition Defenders became available. As well as the distinctive Tangiers Orange colour of the competition vehicles, yellow and black versions were also produced. Defender 90 and 110 Station Wagon versions were available, with front A-Bar, roll-cage, side-steps and front spotlights as standard, as well as G4 badging.

Not for me .. look a bit too 'chavvy' .. always looks like something you've knocked up in the garden shed when bored Rolling Eyes

You've been unlucky Zag lol ... in 21 years Defender driving, on and off road, i've never lost a single headlight to damage Cool Guns and Landrovers .... anything else is irrelevant.

Unlike cars, Defender headlights are cheap and a standard part - so I don't personally see the point either Smile  1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top

Gotta say, Zag that they are a pretty terrible solution. One of the guys on a recent trip had some on his truck (which was beautifully prepared).

They picked up road salt etc very readily which dramatically cut light transmission (which I am not convinced was great in the first place). Worse, fine debris made its way onto the 'inside' of the perspex which then required removal for cleaning. He binned them quite soon into the trip. Equally, I am not a fan of the Mantec/Land Rover metal ones as they tend to corrode very readily and are quite 'lightweight'.

My recommendation would be the COR4 guards from LRS. I have had them on one truck for about 5 years and they have taken quite a battering (crossing iced over rivers - the broken chunks smashing into the truck). They have a rugged look about them too - although I realise, one man's meat etc.

regards

Ian

Yup, LR special edition.

They actually offered them in silver but I'm not sure I've ever seen one. The local dealer had a black and a yellow one in for a while and I used to see the yellow one driving about.

Here are a couple of pages from the official brochure Thumbs Up
