Can it handle the 2.4/2.2? 2015 110 USW XS in Santorini with premium contrast leather seats in tan/black, black headlining and with Dual Finish alloys (in the garage, now on Wolf rims with Goodyear MT/Rs) 2012 '62' 2.2 X-Tech 110 USW now gone ... 1984 90 soft top with full roll cage, 200 tdi engine etc now sold 2012 USW XS 2.2 "FUU" now gone.... |

Well it's 200ps in standard form in a transit and being a 5 cylinder has plenty of torque and runs very smooth. If a defender gearbox can take the power it would make the ultimate defender I'm sure!

Like said,, it also uses the MT82 gearbox. If it is the very same unit, I´m not sure at all. The manual states it can handle 360 Nm. The 3.2 develops a max of 470 Nm IIRC. The other thing is the clutch. Who knows what kind of flywheel-plate-cover is in the transit.

It should have had a dual mass flywheel to calm it down, but I expect the standard Ford setup on the Transit can't tow as well as the Defender non-DMF set-up? It would probably be quite refined with one.

I'm all uprated on the axle side and I. Pretty certain the only difference in the gearboxes is the bearings but not 100% Does sound awesome though attuned 5pot with 250 hp without changing anything but a map hmmmm Steve 2015 2.2 tdci hardtop xs 3.2 conversion DONE 238bhp and 707nm torque and thats just the start ;-P hybrid turbo in build -done ready to fit ashcroft atb in transfer box 6 speed auto in build |
