Easy way is to drop from the back of the stereo to the fusebox, there is a small conduit sized hole which the RCA cables just fit throught.
From therem accross the tunnel under the carpet/mats and your there. Not the tidyest but it works. 2002 Defender 110 DC |

With those subs that have been mounted to the rear of the bulk head where have the cables be routed to the front? straight through across and over or something different?

The speaker is a powered sub woofer (150 watts) link below:
http://www.easy-caraudio.co.uk/shop/subwoo...07725.html Originally it was bolted through the bulkhead with the cable feeding under the the lip accross to the passenger seat and then down. The hole for the cables was drilled just under the lip so that they were not showing. before: Click image to enlarge It now sits directly behind the cubby box mounted on the remaining part of the bulkhead. That 2nd photo looks like its repositioned on the inside of the bulkhead, behind the third seat.
I may be getting an aluminium chequer plate T chest for the winter so need to keep the back of the bulkhead free of stuff, no point having to mount it twice. 2016 D4 HSE 1998 110 TUM HS FFR Hard Top XD WOLF 1982 Series 3 SWB Petrol |

Your right, the speaker is on the inside of the bulkhead behind the cubby box/third seat. I have a box in the back as well, before removing the bulkhead i found the speaker stopped the box being opened fully but it was never a big problem!

With your bulkhead removal, did you litterally just cut/jigsaw it off? And put a guard round? 90 Puma HT

hey ashfordsv.... what's the full rubber matting you have in the back of your wagon...? Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming...

It's as simple as that, or a mix of jigsaw for the bends and either a sabre saw or ciircular cutting disc. I'd like to do it but I think my mud stuff side panels overlap too much, plus my ECU and fuse box are mounted on my bulkhead, quite high up too. 2016 D4 HSE 1998 110 TUM HS FFR Hard Top XD WOLF 1982 Series 3 SWB Petrol |

hi
bm52 answered it all... It's all conected to the radio, no need to get juice anywhere else... I also fitted a pair of Sony Xplod (13cm diameter) in the roof cabin along with two pioneer at the front (standard 10cm diameter) plus two tweeters and the sound is great. I have no experience with alpine material, but I'm very happy with my set up!! Great sound for the first time in a Defender! If you want bass without a sub/amp combo, try JBL GTO series 6x9's --

i installed a small but massively basey set up for my single cab HCPU
you will never get decent base with out a sub. i tried a 4 channel amp powering 4 6x9's and it was laud but no base compared to a sub. Pyle Chopper 1900w MonoBlock amp anzar Vector 10" 500w Slim sub and some VIBE Slick 4 Inch 4" 210w speakers in replace of the standard speakers. running a pioneer x3 which puts out top quality sound.
