Lie down flat on the ground-if you do not have a lift- with your head in about as far as the sump. The oil filter is encased in a black plastic container with two clips or lugs at the bottom. It is a small unit compared to other Defenders. I am surprised no one has told you to follow the leaks 1982 88" 2.25 diesel

Well the circus begins,
New clutch on monday and faulty steering damper explains the guess work on the steering front. At least its still under warranty. |

What were the problems you had with the steering, I can't find your post about it ? A friend of mine has a 110 (2008) which has very vague steering compared to mine (2009). My initial thought was the bushes but they look fine. I was wondering if his steering damper was also at fault. Bob |

Bob,
The steering damper was basically loose and needed tightening up. My steering was rubbish and i should have really checked it myself. The rattle in the gearbox resulted in the new clutch. Ian |
