I dont understand how it does it though as I have towed a heavy off road caravan in temps above 40deg C with head winds for hours and have never had this problem.
I also have a UG and temp has not been over around 96degs yet. Could it be related to driving style? |

Bruce, another chap in KZN who resides in a hilly area has had that issue for 2-3 years. LR tried numerous things but eventually he took the plunge and fitted a bigger intercooler and reported that the problem went away. I know, right? I'm not sure about this, maybe it's something to do with the intercooler, some may be defective without LR realising it? The owner who did this wrote a thread about it somewher. He monitored the inlet and outlet air temperature at the intercooler, realised that was the issue and then got a bigger one. Something that LR did not even think about in the 2-3 years he took it back to stealer over and over. Now that does sound interesting, I wonder if that is why some folk get really good mpg and other don't?
Dare not ask how much a new bigger intercooler is? Does the colder air going into the engine via induction really make that much difference to the engine temp???? Boy |

It's not just that colder air in = colder air out, but also colder air = more dense air = more efficient combustion, so the engine has to work less hard for a given power output.

Very nice but I am sure we could get it made up locally for allot cheaper. I know a few guys who make them for race cars Naks so perhaps when you are ready?
