2007 Defender 90 Puma 2.4 XS CSW Stornoway Grey

Excellent tip, very easy to do and increases range significantly.

I didn't need to remove the 2 torx fasteners securing the dash as I was able to poke new piece of wore into gap between dash and bottom right corner of windscreen, then feel around with hand up through hole where speaker was to get to the end - no problems at all. I the removed the plastic 'A' pillar capping piece and taped new wire to existing wire running up to roof, poking about 150 mm of wire into space behind roof lining.
The wire I used was a 1 mt length of black wire from an old piece of 1.5 mm twin and earth electrical wire, joined to the orange wire with a small piece of electrical terminal block, screw type just in case I needed disconnect it all. Also I didn't strip the other end as i didnt want to leave any exposed wire in the roof just in case it touched something and/or earthed itself preventing the mod from working.

30 mins tops and well worth it.

I'd love to know how to do this with my TD5 90, Changed the battery in the fob but still have to stand right next to it to unlock/lock.

I'm trying to do this on my 11 plate 110 XS puma but don't have the orange and grey wire. In approximately the same place I have a plain piece of braided wire with no plastic shielding which goes into the loom. Could it be that one?

2011 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 XS CSW Santorini Black

Have just done this mod tonight on my 2008 2.4 CSW - took 15mins and the range is now approx. 10 metres. THANK YOU!!
