Hi guys. I got my brand new replacement 90 last week from LRSA. When I was fitting the wing top checker plate and headlight grills this afternoon I gavemyself I slight heart attack. As usual once I fit somthing I like to stand back and admire the view but was shocked to see that the headlight grill was skew. How could this be? I measured,re measured and measured again before drilling. I pulled out the measuring instruments againand was quite shocked to find that the entire wing has been mounted skew. Is this a job I can do with not to much effort or should I tell LR to fix or am ibeing fussy? I'll post some pics on Monday. Land Rover's don't leak oil, they simply mark their territory!

Cheers!
I'll take it back in the morning. It's the drivers side wing that droops the worst ( rhd ). Land Rover's don't leak oil, they simply mark their territory! |

LR have loaned me a disco and sent the defender to the body-shop. Does anybody know if its a case of bending it into shape with force or will they have to remove and refit? is it riveted on or spot welded? Land Rover's don't leak oil, they simply mark their territory!

LHS on ours has a slight droop, although not as bad as that. I put it down to the charm of owning a Defender.
I managed to get the roof back on straighter than when it came out of the factory after we sold the soft top earlier this year. I suspect I might have taken a little longer over it than two hairy brummies in the factory though 54 Freelander modded for mud 2008 D3 SE 2010 90 XS SW 1978 88 Series 3 undergoing surgery with a new owner 2007 90 County Truck Cab - gone 2006 D3 SE - gone 2004 Freelander Sport - gay 1999 Disco V8 ES rotted to bits |

Just had mine straightened our on first service, wasn't quite as pronounced as this one, but is now spot on.
So it can be easily sorted by the dealers, a bit of arm twisting may be required. Don't take any notice of the 'they are all like that sir' I didn't see any in the land rover promotional shots that were droopy, although nearly all of the new ones in the showroom/display were out to various degrees. Take it back and be nice - that seemed to get a good result. Why does this only seem to affect Puma's? I didn't think they were built any different to Td5's, Tdi's, etc, etc.
