Borrow a multimeter to test the current draw and then check/guess the wire (conductor) x-section area and see if it's sufficient. Bear in mind free cables can take more current than bundled ones without overheating and the insulation type can be a factor too. Quick internet search should find a table of conductor diameter or area vs current.

If you can't get a multimeter, divide the bulb wattage by 13 and add 10% Tell someone you love them today because life is short.

Er...wow! Not cheap then Shocked Thumbs Up

If it's HID probably best measure current directly (35W bulb on 24V system should draw less than 2 Amps but I'm not sure about those bulbs). In any event HID is basically an arc lamp so the bulb itself will get very hot in any case.

The ciggy socket should be fused (check it's not been bridged if the vehicle is second hand!) so would blow if there are current/heating issues at the Landy-end.

Looks like a really nice light Very Happy Tell someone you love them today because life is short.

The wiring doesn't look 'too clever' on the lamp. Pop the filament/bulb/lamp out and somewhere there should be a wattage and voltage mark. If you have/have access to an insulation tester test the lamp wiring out with the filament/bulb/lamp removed.

The cigarette socket should be protected by a 20 amp fuse.
Therefore the maximum rating before the fuse will blow will be 12 volts x 20 amps = 240 watts. The wires will get hot as you have effectively a quarter killowatt fire on the go. If the wire insulation does melt the fuse will be the next to go. If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!!

took the bulb out but no wattage mark just what i mentioned before on it.

works great off a spare battery
