Maybe I'm missing something but why not just disconnect the electronics and them the egr will not operate ....do you really need to change the pipes and install blanking plates? I know it's slot more integrated on the td4 but the td5 ... Not sure ... Your thoughts

The EGR valve body provides a significant obstruction in the inlet duct - performance is improved on the TD5 by removing it completely compared to simply disabling it.

Choose which kit you'd like from our website, here: http://www.alivetuning.com/EGR_Bypass.html and then give us a call on 01472 812900, quoting your Defender2.net username. Wink

I have just read your installation instructions and agree with the last paragraph, about the future, and long term think this would be a better solution. I also like your replies on here and the kit seems well made/ Had read similar EGR removal instructions on LR4X4 which said remove all the pipes and wiring and redundant kit; anyway as never got a reply from them, I will give you a call Monday morning to make an order for my 2005 TD5.

Cheers,

Peter

I've had an Alive De-EGR kit on my Td5 for over two years now.

It's been great.
