agree, we have just done 2 110 puma counties at work and found that unless you totally cleaned the underside of the bonnet with "panel wipe" it didn't bond to well. The rear is also cosmetically better if it carpeted to hide the noisekiller, ours wasn't but the customer wasn`t fussed. |

£275 for the kit....to much for me. I want to do the whole 110 for that including roof and doors. |

i agree paul but dynamat is very expensive considering how much you need to do a 110. I think i've found a suitable supplier. |

You don't have to buy the kit from Noisekiller - you can buy it by the sheet/half sheet. From memory there are two types, the self ahesive stuff for panels and the non adhesive mat for floors etc. Wotyh giving them a call.

if you're going to get Dynamat check out foil backed butyl flashing first from places like B&Q. Its thin, dense (heavy) and stops vibration dead. Its also cheap. I did my rear wheel arches/tub with it and the sound of sloshing on wet roads halved as did road roar.
IMHO the noisiest bits of a 110 are the engine and the rear wheel arches so the flashing coupled with an engine blanket from Noisekiller did the trick. I didn't feel that the entire kit was worth the expense. I didn't see the point of putting it for instance in the front foot wells because if you already have LR rubber mats on top of the already thick carpet I don't think another layer is going to make much difference. A lot of noise comes in from the bulkhead under the dash area and although there is some factory fitted insulation up there the noisekiller doesn't stretch that far and it would be impossible to do any way. Sound insulation on a Defender is very much a law of diminishing returns situation. If you quell it in one area it will then be emphasised in another so you can go on and on driving yourself barmy in the process ! The funny thing is, after a week of driving the Peugeot, I get into the Defender and think 'hey this isn't noisy its quiet' but when I get back in the Peugeot it feels like a little Bentley so maybe my perception is not very objective |

I am part way through soundproofing project, I have stopped It's just now to hot to work. What I have so far completed with just Dynamat is the floor area footwells to rear door. Got the roof and inner doors to complete. My observation this far is very positive. It is now very much easier to carry out conversations with the rear passengers, the radio can now be heard at 110 Km/h. As a bonus heat transmission into the cabin has also been reduced. Also I have purchased some closed cell EVA foam to go ontop of the dynamat between the roof liner etc. Yet to purchase Dynamat hoodliner, however on the performance of the Dynamat Extreme I will be doing so.
