These parts are difficult to remove without breakage.
Sometimes the clips break, and you can replace them. But also the plastic can break. Fortunately a new trim is not expensive and it's probably easier just to pull the old one off and fit a new complete trim. l tried to save mine but broke two of the plastic clip holders. |

Why do you need to remove - or pry them off a bit? |

Press the white clips in from behind with a suitable small plier. Then one by one take the wheel arch trim off.
Nothing breaks this way but it has to be clean / mud and sand free before. No Mud flaps for my 90.! ----------------------------------------- P300S MY21 Keswick Green on air, adv.+ offroad pack, DRL+fog, Dinamica Suedecloth + Ebony headliner/Cross Beam- Many Mods.. |

So I have taken the fool proof , well I hope so , way of doing it.
I ordered a new set of clips, £5 for 20 from Vehicle Clips And I managed to find a brand new ( 20 miles on brand new car) set of front wheel arches in black gloss for £30 on FB Marketplace So I can remove the existing ones without worry. If you see the new ones for sale you will be able to tell I didn't break anything. Will post the results. Thanks |

You definitely need the plastic pry tool and pull straight back. I didn’t break any of my tabs or clips. However I did when I removed my extended wheel arches. I broke two clips per side. lol Ohh well. 23 LBW/Urban Defender X

Use masking tape on your body panels so when you use your plastic pry tool (with a soft cloth behind it) you won't damage your paintwork.
I removed all of mine to replace with the LR extended wheel arches, and I damaged/broke none of them. The panbel clips do break though yet are replaceable and cost pence on ebay/amazon. |

It’s just not worth the hassle…the clips are so cheap
The design is sacrificial Just pull em off with your hands…no prying, no hairdryers…no damage. For sure the little white monsters break…put new ones in! That’s exactly what a JLR technician would do. ![]() Defender 90 HT............Pangea Green BMW X3 Msport............Carbon Black Mini Electric................Grey. (wow!)
